I have a plex server on an i3 running over hardwired network to my shield pro, 4tb "standard" external HD plugged in USB 3 as a NAS to the back of my router. Will this "slower" drive cause playback issues? My 4tb is full =(.

I assume I have to do the song and dance of taping over that pin if I want to use this as an internal drive after shucking?

general rule is NOT to use SMR drives as internal drives if you are planning on constantly writing and rewriting to them..
