Currently gamers can pay just $1 for access to hundreds of titles across PC and Xbox via Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass Ultimate service—but don't activate that insanely cheap one-month trial just yet. You can lock in up to three years of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate with that same dollar if you play your cards right.
When you activate Microsoft's promotion, it not only begins the trial, but also converts existing Xbox Live Gold and standard Xbox Game Pass subscriptions on your account to Game Pass Ultimate (normally $15 per month) at a 1:1 rate. Any prepaid time up to the maximum of three years gets the upgrade.

Not only that but it's easy to cancel the GPU after your (up to 3 years of matched Xbox live prepaid subscription) runs out.

I havent done it yet but according to reddit it still work for current UGP subs.
So my plan/reddit advice is to first let my UGP sub lapse (its due any day)
Then apply these Live.
THEN do the $1 UGP thing again (not sure the exact steps as I havent actually done so yet)
1- Get prepaid Xbox Live Gold. You can get up to 36 months of prepaid Xbox Live Gold (from now on Gold). Easiest way is online resellers or websites.*
2- Get paid Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (from now on Game Pass). It has to be paid. 14 days free trials did not work for me, but 1 eur/try/usd/pezos/rubles/yen did work.
3- Any amount of Gold you have will be converted to Game Pass by 1:1 ratio. (website says it may be changed later, but at the time of this thread, it is not changed since release)
That and another advantage of two years is you get to keep your one free month. If you do all 36 you give it up.
However its anyones guess how long this loophole lasts, so you might also want to lock up as much as possible.

Apparently they ask you to turn on recurring billing to get a free extra month with each code. Since 36 months is the max, you need to be sure to turn this down, as you cant do 37 months.
That and another advantage of two years is you get to keep your one free month. If you do all 36 you give it up.
