Do it in the reverse order- buy and return unopened with old bill. This way Costco can sell the returned item as new and you get the discounted rate.

Better sound, better privacy, better integration with Apple devices. The stereo pairing issue is fixed in the upcoming tvOS/audioOS 15 versions that'll be released to the public this month.

Correct! We have the Spotify Family plan and we just give the Echo it's own Spotify account. So other people can play music on the Echo without interrupting what I may be listening to on Spotify.

Single biggest feature I need: Spotify integration like what the Echo has. I need to be able to configure the HomePod with its own Spotify account which is what we do now with the Echo.

Yes I call people with mine. Works great. I've never texted anyone with it but I'm sure it works the same way.
