Also note that the lifetime of these 1" filters is rated at around 4-6 weeks. If you go for a 4" filter, they are usually rated for 6 months. I got a pair of 20x16x4 Filtrete filters [amazon.com] from Amazon Warehouse "like new" recently for $15. The 4" filters also have a much larger surface area so the associated static pressure is lower.
And if in doubt, remember the old axiom... if the angle of your dangle equals the sag of your bag then the throb on your knob is constant. Write that down in your notebooks, kids.
