I have the base model and it's great if you're willing to do a little DIY work to get the temps in order (laptop stand, bios tweaks, Windows Power management settings, etc) once you do that the laptop actually runs cooler than most models while giving you a comparable if not favorable performance
The advanced model has a faster chipset and better cooling (vapor chamber) but only has one nvme slot compared to 2 on the base model.
Build quality is second to none except Apple.
If you are a tech enthusiast Id jump on this. especially if you plan on traveling with your laptop. The unibody aluminum will hold up in the book bag compared to any plastic build on the market.
the one knock on it is that the Intel chipset is 10th gen and while the 11th gen is significantly better (especially the iGPU) if you plan on just gaming or content creating that use case is mostly driven by the nvidia GPU which will still hold up today and is a better value than the 3060 because of the added v RAM onboard (8gb vs 6gb)
also the screen is not bad. The color accuracy is very good for 300hz and more accurate than other screens at this price range

I was already planning on a new laptop this year around Black Friday, but now I might have to move it up a little bit.
I should have jumped on that EVOO 1650 refurb just so I could get something now and not have to stress about finding the perfect laptop for the perfect price.
But now this shows up..... I wasn't trying to spend more than maybe $1100... what to do, what to do.

I upgraded from a Lenovo 960m to this laptop and if you get this spec it'll be like night and day.
Honestly if you're on a budget, the extra money is only worth it if you need the build quality for traveling, work, school, etc.
If you plan on keeping it mostly stationary then "I might" hold out for a cheaper build that'll probably have a faster CPU but the materials and cooling won't come close to this and that's a fact. At this price it's apples to apples on paper with a way way way way build quality.
Like the guy that repaired my last Lenovo said, "you don't put a Ferrari engine in a tin cup."

Did you see the Acer nitro 5 with 11th gen and 3050ti at worst buy for 1099?
That's a fair assessment. I don't fault it. Keep in mind I bought my Razer Blade open box for a steal could be a little biased
BUT having the laptop, id choose this over the more popular models like the g14 with the 3060 now since they're virtually the same price but you get the Razer premiums like the build quality, GPU with the extra 2 GB vram and vapor chamber cooling
