This is the stinkiest shea butter I've come across (and I buy a lot of shea butter). If yours smells like eggs, make sure to return it my first tub was bad. The second one smelled a bit rancid, but that's how it actually smells. It also stains really light skin, so keep that in mind if you don't tan or have a darker complexion.

IMHO, it can actually have a woodsy smell and be fine. If it smells rancid, it probably is. But people's smells are subjective.

True smells are subjective. Certain brands of shea butter always smell rancid, I'm convinced that's the way their brand smells.

You can melt it and the whip it up with your mixer, add some essential oils to make it smell better. I do this to use on my daughter's eczema, smells nice and the whipped texture is easier to spread. In my opinion all pure Shea butter smells kinda funky and I've used tons of different brands.
