Found these on amazon, I was looking for a 2 pack which is $18, ($9 each) vs the 4 pack which has a $5 off coupon making them $29 for 4 bulbs, ($7.25 ea)

The price on the camel is normally $39, with a few dips to $35, but I haven't seen them lower than that before. I have some of the non rgb bulbs, and theyr'e pretty nice. Can't wait to try these out.

several recent reviews say they drop off your wifi and you have to toggle the switch to get them to rejoin.

they might be good enough to put in an outside patio light string to 'do' the neighbors.

A few of mine have done this over the past year. Just click it on and off three times real fast and it back online.

do you think they would last outside, at least for a while, so can 'do' the neighbors with them

Yes, they should. I had one in a porch light for the past year w/o any issues.

so when you remove the power and then power them back on do they default to a white light?

I have one of these and I have never had the issue with them dropping off of wifi, but my problem is 800 lums is just not bright enough if you only have a single bulb.

They are pretty nice though if you only need a small amount of light/small room.

I use these daily and i've never had any issues with that. I've got about 15 of them around my house.

yeah those reviewers could be using shitty routers and/or have other technical problems.

They have an option to default to a specific brightness and color or to a "last on" setting which keeps them at the previous setting before they were turned off. I use a switch in my bathroom and default to 1% brightness so when I wake up in the morning it's not a blaring bright light in my face

do they/app have any kind of setting where they would change thru the colors

As someone with shitty internet I can confirm this.
Same router, same hardware, worked great when I was back in college on 100/100. Past few years at home on 10/1 my kasa plugs and some bulbs are unreliable.

Dang, both of my Amazon accounts aren't showing the $5 coupon. And here I was looking for an excuse to buy something else I don't need

I have 5 TP-Link bulbs through the house. Three are the KL130s and two are the KL125s. I regularly have to toggle the KL125s to get them back on the network. The only time I've had to do it with the KL130s is after a power outage when our network went down. According to the product page these are KL125s. Going to pass for that reason.

Dumb question, but I assume these require a Wifi connection to work (i.e., not controllable by Bluetooth)? Being able to use one at work would be handy.

It says on the last color.

I have mine set to go on at sunset and automatically turn off at sunrise in the app.
