Nice device

Heads up doesn't seem to have the attachment screw in the middle to permanently attach to the outlet like some do-
So I'd suggest this in a location that won't have a lot of plugging/unplugging going on or it might be a constant annoyance that the whole extender comes unplugged
To be fair, you shouldn't be buying this specifically for the surge protection. The level of surge protection provided here is a bonus to the accessory power outlets.

Just nice to see a power product being promoted that bothered to get listed [intertekconnect.com] for the claims it makes (in this case, as a receptacle and a surge protector). That's actually pretty standard for the Philips-branded power devices... but shockingly rare for the bulk of what gets shilled on Slickdeals as of late.

Good luck!

Just FYI; if you're plugging things in and out often, this thing can get frustrating since it easily pulls out of the wall and you need to hold it while plugging or unplugging items. For example, I had bought it for my kid's room and she was plugging her laptop into this unit, but of course she often unplugged the power cable when she was taking her laptop somewhere. Her lamp and light strips were also plugged into this. So each time she unplugged the laptop cord, all her lights would turn off until she plugged the unit back in. On the other hand, however, if you're keeping things plugged into this unit and not often changing what's plugged in, it's out of the way since it's attached to the wall and it's an inexpensive way to add more outlets where they may be needed. So it can be a great buy for some use cases.

Terrible clamping voltage (900V). Should only get 400V and below.

Yeah, I prefer something like this (more expensive) that has a screw in the middle.

This works well if you don't plan on unplugging anything.

This works well if you don't plan on unplugging anything.

Another idea is to use a command strip to the wall plate and save $15 / not have to fiddle with screws, especially in an apartment where you need to remove it when you move out.

Similar price all day everyday at Menards for their Smart Electrician brand. A 1000 Joule protected one with two usb ports is $9.99. https://www.menards.com/main/elec...-13969.htm

As for the pulling out of the wall while unplugging I don't have that issue with the smart electrician one I noted. I did also just replace the outlet at the same time, so its probably much tighter then a well used years old outlet. The double sided tape idea is nice but be careful since the outlet cover plate is really not meant to hold on very tight like the outlet is. I would also not want to remove goo from an outlet face in case someone just got some ideas.
