Was looking for a backup router, have heard great things about this one. Will give it a try. Worst case, walmart makes it easy to return anyway!

You're not getting 3 gigabit from 5G. You're probably confusing your data caps or units or something.

You're not getting 3 gigabit from 5G. You're probably confusing your data caps or units or something.

Let's see a screen shot of your speedtest. Also speeds are rated in bits not Bytes.

Wireless speed is incredibly dependent on the specific environment. Not everyone will see much of an improvement with AX and, further, just because the speed specs of one router are better doesn't actually mean the performance will be better. There's a whole world of specific hardware, software drivers, and operating systems that provide a varied experience.

Amazon until recently had the Netgear RAX 20 for $50 which was $35 for those that has the $15 off. Walmart had it on clearance via brickseek for $35. I have this one and can get 500 Mbps even on AC clients.

Tplink Ax3000 has been on sale on ebay for $60.xx but has gone lower in the past.

I would just wait for better AX based router deals.
