KEF uses concentric speaker design. The twitter is integrated in the center of the woofer. They are two separate speakers, just like Klipsch.

Solid deal for their premiere line of speakers. I paid $266 for a pair of these used a couple of years ago. These sound great, but for me I preferred the sound of the KEF Q150s. Still wonder if I made the right decision...

Single Drive KEF vs dual driver Klipsch. Would you describe the sound in KEF that was the deal breaker? Those look to be twice the price point. What do you use these for ? PC? Theater? Home Audio?

The KEF typically go on sale for $300 a pair around the holidays, so I'd definitely wait if you're interested in them (I believe they're back at msrp of $600 right now). I see someone answered your question regarding the drivers.

I use my KEF for movies, gaming, and music in a 2.1 setup. They sound excellent. I was sold by the KEF specifically for how they sound for music - the soundstage is great, especially for the price. Apparently they're a budget version of the LS50s which are regarded as one of the best speakers as far as I know. You can see the designs are fairly similar between the two as well. As a result, I was sold by the value in that regard as well.

The klipsch also sounded great, but I was just less "wowed". Of course sound is subjective and honestly everyday can sound different to me depending on mood, etc. lol!

You don't like QEF as much now or you just wondering if these would have been better?

Nvm. Just read your above post.

Lol I thought kef 950q were expensive. Just saw the price for the LS50s. Damn I feel poor!

Haha you and me both. Don't be afraid to buy a couple of different pairs of speakers and try them out. Most sites have generous return policies, so you can compare a couple of pairs at once to find out which ones you like best.

Why do they still have stock of this line? It was discontinued years ago and I thought they had sales to dump it for the new line.

I've got the Jamo S809 towers and a Klipsch reference line (not premier) center channel, and I keep wondering if I'd be better served by Klipsch mains (left/right) instead of the Jamos. The jamos are beautiful with their many drivers and tower design, but I have a suspicion that a pair of Klipsch bookshelves would better match the Klipsch center channel, and also give that sizzling brightness that I rather enjoy (mostly for dialog and video games). Anyone have feels on Jamo S809 vs something like these
