Conclusion from the video....
If you're looking for a water filter that's going to do a good job of cleaning up the water leaving the minerals alone but taking out some of the impurities the, Aquaphor seems like a great option
ZeroWater did a great job of cleaning up the water, removing the impurities including the iron.
And finally I really like the reverse osmosis that's offered by the AquaTrue, it does a great job.

love my zero, apparently it filters flouride also, which is why i wanted a ro or distill system to begin with.
normally, i fill my zero with the britta
no problems with funny smells, yet, and use mine until the water just trickles out, usually 2-3 months
Not that there is any good reason to remove it from your tap water.
Edit: They claim it does. Better make sure your kids brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste then.

Look up this product by UPC or model (188781000010 / ZR-001) and you'll see target / home depot / etc... are all hosting the product image with two holes in the filter. They must just have two revisions of this item.
The agent said to avoid the knockoffs, look for "Sold by Amazon" in the sellers listing or iShare and he mentioned one more which escapes me atm.
I guess the retailers are cleaning out their stock of their older model to make space for the newer version.

We've been using ZW for about 3 years now, and the filters last about 3-4 months (about a gallon a day).

It depends on so many factors... water reservoir quality, pipe quality to home, pipe quality within home, daily use, etc. People are so used to the 2-month Brita filters, but (in my opinion) they did very little. I never knew that the standard ones never filtered any lead from pipes. I'd used Brita for 20+ years.
I go 4-6 months (easily) with a ZW but I now live in an area that has pretty good water.
People shouldn't be concerned with how long it lasts. What's the solution - filter less or go unfiltered? If you have really bad water, get a R.O. system.
