I think these low-dose aspirin tablets can be used for pain mitigation, but ultimately I think they're used to help prevent against heart problems and strokes. Also reviewers say this aspirin is easy on the stomach.

They're good for a long time after expiration. 5 years is common - many people get a big bottle of these and have them for years. The potency goes down a little bit, but I would expect from this brand, with its enteric coating, and kept away from light/heat/moisture, a few years would be easy, and they would probably work (and not poison you) for a decade or more though it wouldn't be a bad idea to replace them by then.

It does relieve pain, but you need to take more tablets to reach the standard of regular aspirin tablets.

Notice that the directions say for adults to take 4 81mg tablets, which equals 324mg (the amount in a regular aspirin tablet). It's really the same thing but with more work.

The purpose of this product is to allow more flexibility for consumers who need it. People who need smaller doses or otherwise can achieve relief without a full dose. Modular medicine.

I never understood why people take aspirin for pain... unless you have allergies for other OTC meds... These are more for preventative measures such as stroke or other cardiovascular issues. It has blood thinning effect so people who have surgery scheduled soon or have bleeding/clotting issues should consult their pcp before taking.

That is a year supply if you take 1 a day. Wouldn't they expire?

Costco sells (in store) two bottles of 365 (or more) count of 81mg of Bayer coated aspirin for like $4.

Low does 81mg is the standard dose for those with cardio issues and or history of such issues.

I myself have been on 81mg since I was 40 as I'm a lifelong diabetic (Type 1). I'm in good health, exercise, eat well, no high BP or cholesterol, but data shows I'm still very likely to have cardiac issues as I age, and this aspirin is a major safety mechanism to surviving a heart attack/or stroke.

It is not taken for pain management.

They will keep for years in proper storage. At worst the outer coating will degrade, but likely only after a bottle is opened and still a year+.

My $.02

Is that Costco price their reg price or sale price? I'm on the 1 a day regimen as well.

Personally I use aspirin for pain because I can combine it with Tylenol for more pain relief. I am allergic to Ibuprofen and sometimes Tylenol just isn't strong enough for pain. Also Tylenol does little for certain types of pain: sinus headaches and toothaches and aspirin does a lot for those type of pains.

I primarily take this aspirin to prevent blood clots it's saved me multiple trips to the emergency room.
