So you buy a ticket and travel by 11/18/21. Then buy ANOTHER ticket for 1/6-2/28/2022 and on THAT flight your companion flies free?

This is similar to last year deal, but not as good. Last year was book "a" flight by x date (2020) and travel by y date (2020). Have companion pass January to end of Feb 2021.

Basically, book a round trip ticket by 9/9/21 with travel dates before 11/18/2021 .
You will then have a companion pass to used with travel booked between 1/6/22 to 2/28/22

Notes: Price doesn't not matter. I booked a $60 one-way ticket between NYC and DC. Used the companion pass for my trip to Taos, NM in January. DC to ABQ roundtrip was $260, so i essentially saved $200 on airfare.

Yeah, that's how I'm interpreting it, too... Then I wonder are there any price limitations? (Ex. If my first flight is $120 r/t... Can my Jan companion flight be $350? Does that matter?)

It only matters how much you pay and your companion flies with you for free with the same fare restrictions as you. So if you pay for basic fare, companion gets basic fare. There's no 1st class seating on Southwest.

Two questions:

1) Can one cancel an existing flight, rebook it (with cash and not the credit) and then use that flight to earn the companion pass?

2) Can the companion pass be used for an international flight?

Seems like both of these work, but wanted to confirm.

I have some flights to Florida later this month. If I change them do you think it will qualify for a "booking"? Also have a bunch of credits so assuming that if I use the credits to book a separate flight it will trigger the free companion pass.

It must be a revenue foight. Meaning no points. But travel funds count.

1. You can use the credit. It's same as cash.
2. Yes you can. But you'll still pay taxes and fees, which can be over $100. Amazing how much you pay BCE to not do much. Look at your receipt at all the things you pay for.
