So you buy a ticket and travel by 11/18/21. Then buy ANOTHER ticket for 1/6-2/28/2022 and on THAT flight your companion flies free?

This is similar to last year deal, but not as good. Last year was book "a" flight by x date (2020) and travel by y date (2020). Have companion pass January to end of Feb 2021.

Basically, book a round trip ticket by 9/9/21 with travel dates before 11/18/2021 .
You will then have a companion pass to used with travel booked between 1/6/22 to 2/28/22

Notes: Price doesn't not matter. I booked a $60 one-way ticket between NYC and DC. Used the companion pass for my trip to Taos, NM in January. DC to ABQ roundtrip was $260, so i essentially saved $200 on airfare.

Any idea on how "pleasurable" flights are on SWA these days? I keep reading about passengers going crazy and assaulting other passengers and flight attendants. Flying used to be fun. Haven't flown in several years.

Did 4 flights in August - all as pleasant as ever. Except no alcohol being served (which may be why).

Not until Jan 6 if I recall. I got worried. I never got the email but some did.

But you can book your flight with either points or cash, and add the companion up until the last minute. I reserved a spot on the Hawaii flight with points, just in case, and then canceled and booked with the CP.

Absolutely yes, at least with the regular companion pass. So unless that's changed for this deal, it should be yes.

Edit: I was thinking you were meaning the flight you want to take with your companion, not the qualifying flight for this deal. In the latter case I'm sorry I honestly don't know.

I haven't seen any issues. Just flew today... airport was crowded but flight wasn't full.

The only complaints I hear are from people who whine about mask enforcement. Most flights aren't an issue. But I guess some people freak out if your mask is down too long. Boo hoo.

No it's not. In either case. to earn the pass. but yes, you can use points for the flights in JanFeb

My experience is it is about the same as most other carriers, but, the folks at SW do seem to be happier most of the time.

That's not what it is. You fly 2 flights, then you get unlimited flights for a companion for 2 months. So you could call those 2 for 1, but you have to fly together.
