Depending on which part of the Amazon listing you look at, this either has a max of 90 or 160 joules of protection, which is the least amount I've ever seen on a surge protector. I personally would treat this as more of a power strip and not expect anything in terms of meaningful surge protection.

I bought three of these before. One of them the case was cracked. Second one the switch was all wonky and didn't work half of the time. Third one tripped a breaker with sparks flying.

Sent them back for a refund. Not burning down my house.

I wish it came in white but at least it has a right angle plug. Limit 6 per customer. Low joule rating is understandable at this price. I'm only using it for low power devices.

If you just need a white power strip with short cord, no right angle plug then Ikea has a 2 pack for $6.

I believe low power devices would need higher joule rating because low power devices are more sensitive to power surges.

I just bought 3 surge protectors. I was looking on Amazon for the best priced one, like most of us. But ended up Belkin that came with connected equipment insurance. Someone in the reviews shared their positive experience with Belkin paying out for replacing his equipment that was damaged due to a power surge the Belkin product was not able to handle. A surge protector is like insurance if it doesn't work when needed then it's not a good deal no matter how cheap it was.

I've never heard of a successful surge protector claim actually paying out - I'd be willing to bet it's under 5% of claimants.

Well, this review is the only data I have. I don't know anyone who has had to file a claim.

They're really useful and add an extra layer of protection to a 15amp circuit (~110v * 15amps = 1,650w), especially if you use them with small appliances. I have a coffee machine and toaster, both attached to the same surge protector (different brand) and each appliance uses about 1,200w and these surge protectors work perfectly by tripping the 15amp circuit on the surge protector faster than on the main panel when I accidentally turn both on concurrently which draw 2,400w, saving me a trip to reset the 15 AMP (1,650w) circuit at the main panel!

So in the event the main panel circuit doesn't trip or even if you allow your wires between your walls to get hot enough to trip the main circuit, these sorts of surge protectors can save your home from a fire!

Now, having read the scary reviews on Amazon, I would stay away from this brand, pay a few extra bucks and get an American brand with an American address so you have some recourse to sue in the event the surge protector shorts out and burns down your home! LMAO

But ... but ... it's "high-end performance and efficiency for any situation"

Joking aside, if any devices are worthy of protecting, you should shell out real money. Amazon Basic is only $17 and 4,500 joules.

Taken apart, these make excellent short cords to plug into wall socket, if you're installing a new disposer, or, maybe dishwasher.
