It depends. Laptop with silver key caps tend to be harder to see if the backlight is too weak. Even macbooks have black key caps on white backlight.

But yea, it's a nice to have but given this price point. I can live without it

I believe so since Stadia mostly just needs a browser. It is definitely not a gaming laptop though.

As long as they are not a graphic design or video production student or something like that it should be fine for taking notes and writing papers and web browsing.

I would not use it for heavier programming though.
