The quality will be low with no nickel. You'll know it contains no nickel if it isn't mentioned.
I recently decided that silverware is one of those things you can purchase once in your life and be done, so why not just spend more to get quality stuff.
In my view, it doesn't make sense to get junk flatware. There's plenty of that for pennies in the thrift stores. The only time I'd get low quality stuff is if I ran a restaurant or supplied utensils at the break room where I work.
For those reasons, I just recently purchased 18/10 quality flatware from Amazon. It wasn't cheap compared to this, but already I'm happier not using the junk I was before. Maybe I'll keep some cheap stuff around for when my wife brings her utensils to work.
I would agree if not for this question being important too, do you have young kids… I don't know how they do it but my nieces nephews son and daughters some how magically make silverware disappear. 4 sets in now and need another soon 🙄. Tried watching them throw away trash and reminding but still happens somehow. Bring on the budget deals lol

Yep those low life's at work and customers in restaurants walk off with every thing. I like good flatware with a little heft and feel to it plus quality. I keep finding some thin stamped stuff in the house. wife likes it. She also likes giving me plastic glasses or Contigo carry arounds instead of Crystal. Back when we had little I bought her 18-10 Oneidas Aquarius twisted handle flatware 1 setting at a time. More than 30 years ago now. We use a four place sitting 18-10 from Costco that are fine. 18-10 solid weight that was 20-30 on sale.

Couldn't agree more.
Loosely translated from another language:
Buy expensive, cry once. Buy cheap, cry over n over.

Good stuff. Oneida does not make 18/10 any more. Or even 18/8. It's 18/0 these days, but still way better than the cheap stuff.

May I ask which set you bought from Amazon? We are in the market and I'd like to only buy once.
Also, do you use the cheap dishwasher liquid with citrus in it because we do. Afraid that will mess with finish.
The real issue with low quality is the marks it leaves on your dishes. I hate buying dishes and when my wife brought home some cheap flatware it ended up ruining all our bowls.
Wonderful timing here. We are putting together some kitchen kits for refugees. "Silverware" for 6-8 is on the list. I'm thinking this is a better deal than Dollar Tree would be.
