Precharged ones - Sanyo Eneloops, Duracell, Ikea branded
Lithium - Energizer
Alkaline - Energizer (only started using these recently, after all other brands leaked over time)
Interestingly, have not come across any 9v that leak, regardless of brand.
A battery that leaks in a device, isn't worth the risk if regardless a great deal or even free. If Energizer alkalines leak on me, then I'll just stick to the precharged and lithiums.
got these a few month ago for ~$18

I got some Duracells around $15 four months ago from Amazon. I hope I don't see anything crazy like this going on.
They were Duracell Optimums so I'm hoping they're not prone to this leakage like the regular ones are.

Last time I bought a large pack of batteries was at Home Depot, Energizer Max 36 for $15.98 and they were the Made in Singapore version which were supposedly the 'best' models according to some review site that put all of them to the test.
My local Home Depot is showing $16.98 for them right now which is 47c a battery instead of 44c like this Amazon deal but I think it's worth the extra 3 pennies a battery for piece of mind.
