NioH is an absolutely lazy ass port. Yes it looks good but they left all of the console control shit and displays in the game. When it gives you control suggestions it is assuming you are using a controller and not a keyboard and mouse. There is no way to swap out the control control suggestions and show the keyboard and mouse instead.

They just went the easy route and gave the middle finger to people on the PC who don't use a controller. Thank god it was free as I would be pissed otherwise.
I might be nuts, but I absolutely cannot imagine playing a game like this with a KB and mouse.

Interested in trying Nioh on PC, but it will be hard to beat playing it on PS5 thanks to the pretty unique "variable" movie mode that even without any patching allows for pretty stunning 4K/60fps gameplay.

It never got a lot of mentions when talking about backward compatibility, but it took full advantage of the extra power.

Here's a great explanation if you want to know in more detail:

In the first 10 months of the EGS's existence (through September 2019), Epic spent roughly $11.6 million to distribute just over 104 million free copies of 42 different titles, the filing shows....
So I guess trick number 1 is to pay 10 cents a game.

There are people that can play any game on kb/mouse better than gamepads and joysticks, even fighting games. But for the majority, they just need to invest in a $40 Xbox controller when on sale.

Nioh is awesome. Both Nioh games are. It's a hard game, just like the Dark Souls games, but it's super worth taking the time to "git good" at it. Even if you have to crawl through the game at a snail's pace, take your time. Be really patient. You'll probably die on some bosses 50 times, but you'll eventually get it. . Just go in expecting to die a ton. It's a little less frustrating that way. Look at it this way, you have a 100% of not beating the game if you don't try to. Getting good at these kinds of games will generally help you with other action games.

This was my first souls-like game. I started playing it and quit playing it before beating the first Zipangu mission multiple times. Once I finally understood how to play, I ended up putting over 300 hours into it. I definitely recommend it!

If you're having issues and can't quite "git good," I started watching this playthrough which helped me get a better feel for the mechanics: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?...0C0BcteIwJ

Is it harder than Code Vein(which is considered Souls lite)? I already struggled with Code Vein but finally beat the last boss with a bit of luck. I assume Nioh may be about as difficult as Dark Souls?

Good lord. I just went through the entire intro mission and all the tutorial stuff thinking it looked like crap before realizing the resolution was set to something like 1280x720. Note that you can't adjust the resolution from within the game - you can only do that through the "game launcher" on the Epic Games store. Find the game in your library, select it, and click "settings" in the game launcher to adjust resolution before selecting launch game. It looks a whole lot better after adjusting for that.
