Anyone think it'll be much cheaper come black Friday or anything? Seems like a good deal now

So I've had my Roborock S5 for about 18 months now. Yes. It does help with the vacuuming. It does not replace a regular vacuum, but it should extend your schedule out a bit. I rarely have mine get stuck and the mapping feature is solid. But a few drawbacks. First, the mopping feature is worthless IMO. It weakly drags a damp cloth across the floor. It really doesn't do anything. Second, you'll have to empty the catch bin nearly every time it vacuums the entire house. Obviously variables at play (pets, house size, etc), but be prepared to empty the bin very often. Third, the 3rd party filter replacements clog much faster than the Roborock branded filters, which are about $7-8 each. And I saved the worst for last.... the brush gets tangled with hair very easily. I do have the "upgraded" brush in which the side bearings pop off to make cleaning the brush slightly easier, but it still gets tangled 50X faster than my full-size upright vacuum. Nearly every full-house job.

All in all, I just want everyone to be prepared to spend 10mins of maintenance on this every/every other time you use it. That's something I underestimated when I purchased it.

I've had the s4 for years and it's still running strong. I'll be picking up the s7 soon and I'll move the s4 to the basement.

I will echo what he said. I have had a S4 for over a year. I will be replacing the main and side brush soon. Other than that, it has been solid. I don't foresee replacing the filter at all. I wash it once a month and hung out to dry. It is still in excellent condition.

I bought my MIL an S6. The mop feature, I told her not to use. Useless and unnecessarily complicate the matter. I want it to clean my floor, not to spread nastiness everywhere.

When my S4 dies, I will replace it with another pure vacuum. Moping will have to be my domain.

I wash mine about monthly too. But after ~10 months I started getting "filter is clogged" alerts pretty quickly after washing/drying. That's when I tried a 3rd-party filter replacement. Bought a 3 pack. They were garbage. Bought the genuine Roborock (Xiaomi) brand filters and it cleared the problem right up.

Same! I actually just got the S7+ with bin. So now my S4 is going upstairs to the bedroom floor.

That sucks. I have an S9+ and it replaces the vacuum. There is nothing we need to vacuum

My RoboRock S3, bought it in early 2018 from a Chinese website before it was introduced in the US. It has worked like a champ every night since 2018 till date. No problems except a few software bugs which I resolved with a device reset, only twice.

First, I agree the mopping feature is useless, I have never mopped my floors with it on my 2200 sqft first floor.

Secondly it's a joy every morning to see the box filled up because I know it did a good job. It takes me 30 seconds to empty the box into my bin. I have always used OEM washable filters, they are cheap and washable, why buy 3rd party.

All-in-all it takes 60 seconds to empty the bin and put it back, ready for next nightly cleaning. I do spend about 10 minutes to clean and service it, but only every 3 months (not every/other day).

My S3 is no where near the advanced S5/S6 on the market these says. RoboRock S-series is the only robo-vacuum I'll ever replace my current vacuum, if it gives up that is. It has lasted longer than any tablets or laptops I have owned, buy it with confidence.
