FWIW.. I saw a Youtube vid today on the new 4K MAX. It has a 40% faster processor full 2gig ram but still ony 8gig storage.. It also has the new remote with the 5 extra buttons. Fire OS 7 (same as the lite and regular versions).. I suppose we will see these for $30 on Black Friday.

I like these but there is one thing I wish they would change: when it goes to "sleep" it doesn't shut off the tv. So my daughter and fiancé's TV end up being on all day most of the time unless I go through and manually turn off their tv's. It's really stupid in my opinion.

Most modern TVs have their own auto shutoff functions that can be activated.

The way the Fire TV works it makes the tv think it's getting a tv signal. It's sending out a black signal it seems. If I unplug the Fire TV then yes the tv will sit at the black screen for a bit and then turn off. So the Fire TV prevents out tvs from turning off!
