180 days of active service. It's actually more like 175, as I unlocked from a previous deal at that point to avoid paying for another month.

Also, if you move the SIM to another phone it will 'break' the required service time. Some people say you can 'resume' the clock by moving it back, but others say it starts over at 0 again. I didn't want to risk it, so I left it in the iPhone and paid for 6 months total (basically this deal gives you six months prepaid service you switch to the $30 plan with only 2gb of data). Earlier deals would only make you pay $60 or $120, and you could use referrals to help lower future cost some.

No. If you don't use that phone, you won't get 180 days credit for an unlock of that phone.

Link in the wiki was posted when this thread was new, a few weeks ago. Probably dead now. If you're looking for referral credit, check Ebay listings. They often post them with the link right in the description so they can get credit as the referrer without you having to buy anything through ebay.

I can confirm that the $5 autopay discount applies even if you have a credit balance. On day 1 of activation I downgraded to the $40 plan. Later that day (and through the rest of the month), my account showed a credit balance of $140 ($180-$40 for first month). A few days before my second month started, Cricket added a $5 autopay credit. On day 1 of my second month, they took $40. So now I have a credit balance of $105.

If you are actually using the service and use a moderate amount of data, it's well worth $5/month more to get an extra 8gb of data. Plus, with the referral credits I'll be getting, I'll be able to use Cricket for an extra 2-3 months past the 6-month unlock qualification date without paying anything more.

If you use this phone with an existing cricket # for 6months, will it still be eligible for unlock?

You will hate the battery life on this phone. Don't say I didn't warn you.
I get a full days use with mine no problem and that's impressive for a compact phone and battery. Maybe you have a app running?

I did this deal in May and found the Cricket service to be really poor. Sending MMS and group text just doesn't work on the iPhone SE (receiving works fine). Works fine when everyone is using iPhone because of iMessage. There are no APN settings to change and talking with support has been useless. Other people seem to have the same issue when I searched and it is specific to iPhones.
Location, location or you have a problem with the phone. Mine has been running fine for almost two years with no text, whatsapp, google voice problems with send/receive. I send to android and iphone users without a hitch. You might want to reset the phone or contact Cricket upper level tech.

I just port-in back to cricket after 91 days of porting-out to mint mobile and I was able to purchase this deal keeping my number, paid $180, downgraded to the $30 plan just after activating the service and now got $150 account credit, also used the referral code and now says 60 days left to get the $25 credit, just sharing me experience.

Did anyone order two phones? I ordered two phones. Total was $270 due. Monthly for the two was $90/month. I was able to downgrade one phone to $30 and my credit balance went from $180 to $210. But I was not able to downgrade the second line. It gives me an error that my account is temporarily unavailable. Also, when looking at the billing history, it shows a huge negative balance "-$420" Does anyone's billing history show a negative balance?

Activated the phone, but now I cannot create an account bc the phone will not receive texts from cricket. Any other source works, including texts from other companies and other personal numbers. Any advice?

I just activated and used the referral code for $25. Went through successfully. I had also changed my plan to the $30 plan. When I look in my account details I see monthly charges: $30, account credit: $120. Shouldn't the account credit be $150?
