I use Comma in my two cars and it is great. It is not really a self driving system but essentially an advanced LKAS. If you do a lot of highway driving it adds a lot of value and can be compared to manufacturer systems like GM Super Cruise. It is very good at keeping you in the lane. You can go tens of miles without touching to gas, break and steering wheel. For $1250 it is a very good addition to your car and much cheaper than systems offered by manufactureres although the performance is comparable.

This is a good price if you will buy it brand new from the manufacturer. However it is possible to buy the car specific cables from third party suppliers at a much lower price than the $200 price charged by Comma itself. So you may buy the device and cables for around $1300 anytime if you buy the cables from third party.

I recommend to try Comma if you have a compatible car and you drive a lot on highways.
GeoHot George is still there, he's just not running the place or actively coding on it. He's involved but spending the vast majority of his time on his TinyGrad system, which is housed in the exact same offices.
Not a buyer but glad you posted. Cool tech that I didn't know was around for the "aftermarket"

Could you post a 3rd party supplier?

Forgot about Comma... Apparently Geohot might no longer be with the company (left in 2022 per a blog post, but still actively posts about Comma)

Why do you need anyone to be in the company to buy a product? This is a device which is comparable as is to GM's Super Cruise or Ford's Blue Cruise. Even if development stops and the company closes today you will keep this functionality permanently. I don't think this company will develop full self driving SW in the near to mid term with or without Geohot. It is just an advanced LKAS and it is very good at it. I did not invest in the company, I bought a product which already makes my life easier.

All I provided was unbiased information for others to make an educated decision.

You've assumed I stated Geohot is needed around to buy the product, however, his personality can be very polarizing and may even persuade others to buy if he no longer runs the show.

I have no opinion on the matter, but know many who do.

I used this for a month in my Prius before sending it back and ended up buying a Tesla. It was fun for long distance highway driving. Easy to install.

And the winner for the "Least Informative SD Listing Ever" is ….. this one! Would it have killed someone to include a few words about what the hell a "Comma" is or does?

Comma is a third party driving assistance add on that adds level two self driving to a myriad of compatible cars.

I've used on in my RAV4 for about 3 years, approximately 40,000 miles of almost hands free driving.

It's amazing on highways, and works great on two lanes roads as well.

Lots of information available for interested parties on the web.

It just set a world record...

Yes! I have it on my 2017 CRV, there is technically some way to mod the torque motor in it but I'm too scared/lazy to try that. Even with the stock motor it still works great for me, you just have to help it around the more aggressive corners. My CRV only steers down to 12 mph but to be honest I hardly notice that anyway. In the future I will probably buy a Toyota to get better torque and steering down to 0 but I do not regret my purchase at all, it's SO nice on road trips and works great for everyday lane keep as well, I'd buy again in a heartbeat.
