Some of us value our time. I have a dog, and use it every single day. If not, my cleaning lady does and that's time she could be cleaning something else.
5 mins a day x 365 days a year x 4 year service life = 121 hours saved. My time is worth a lot more than $760/121 hours or $6.29/hour.
Just want people to be aware that iRobot just came out with a new model j7+ for $850
It includes auto empty bin and object avoidance (camera in front).
Available for purchase now on iRobot's website with other retailers to follow soon.
Biggest feature differences is the irobot has object avoidance while roborock has the mop.
No reviews yet for the new iRobot. One concerns is iRobot has a history of buggy software on new products.
Historically, Roborock seems to have better navigation/mapping/battery life while iRobot has better cleaning ability on rugs.
Just purchased S7 and Dock separately few weeks ago. I have to say this is one of the best robot vacuum you can get right now. I don't regret buying them separately for much higher price. I'll buy this combo again if imI have to
Agree. Roborock had an opportunity to market themselves as green and go bagless worldwide but they whiffed it and focused on profitably of selling unneeded accessories. I'm only buying this when someone relents and goes bagless
I think the HEPA filtration has something to do with it as well. Also, third party bags will be dirt cheap like every other accessory on Amazon/AliExpress.
It seems new model from this brand, no reviews found, any one used this model or brand, pls share your feedback. Thanks
The two pieces were available separately and there are tons of reviews. YouTube is loaded. Now being sold as a combo. Great price, though it's expensive it's their top of the line. Good find.
Honestly curious how you guys justify $800 on a vacuum cleaner you can only use for floors and for one level... We have pets but we sweep around every few days and it takes 5 minutes max. Between sweeping and vacuuming with dyson v6 in a 2700 sqrt house I wouldn't have confidence that this robot could do as good job, even if it costed $300

I live in a 2000 sqft 2 floor house. I do have a Dyson V10 and it takes considerably more than 5 minutes for me to clean it properly. May be bacause I have a dog who sheds a lot. I also have a small kid so I need it clean everyday. I have two s5 max on each floor which I have put on daily routine to clean. So when my son crawls the floor is cleaner. We still clean but that is reduced to once every two week.
So for my use case the money spent was well worth.
Neato takes a century (Connected version). It needs to recharge these days too. It has an option to update firmware, since the day I bought no firmware update was published. It is great. Roborock according to Vacuum Wars that I have been following for a few years is the way to go, for now.
I am waiting for the right price drop for S7, more than a symbolic 10% off that was in August. If there will be a bagless version, I would get that auto empty dock version.
I had a couple of older Neatos, XV21 era. They where good at cleaning with a big bin and wide roller, but they always damaged the batteries, likely due to over-charging. Even replacement Genuine batteries where knackered after a few months.
The bag thing stinks, but it's not a big deal. You can get bags for like $2/each on aliexpress. That's like $12-$15 per year? Hardly a deal breaker.
I know everybody has different living situations but with pets and a full house the small 3L bag could easily be filled in two days. That's half the cost of the unit annually in disposable bags. Their stated 8 week change interval is ridiculous. If all the dirt we had to pick up would only fill a 3L bag after 8 weeks I wouldn't even bother with a robot vacuum.
They should at least offer the bagless system since they already designed and built it for other markets.

Also, it doesn't take "5 minutes".

Bought the s6 when it first came out for $650 and it was worth every penny. Had neato, roomba, deebots, etc and the difference is night and day. I was going to pull the trigger on this until I saw the bag thing, that's definitely a no go. Guess I'll have to wait until they make the cyclone available. It's seriously my only issue with the s6, the tiny dust bin. I have so much dog hair I usually need to dump it twice before it finishes a single pass downstairs, mop was nice but having to swap it out meant I used it a few times at first but never again. Can't wait for roborock to get into the dual rotating mop technology, that will definitely be a game changer. Narwal with an app that actually works would be my perfect mop
