It frustrates me so much that the Arctis 7 and Arctis Pro haven't been updated to USB-C. Good deal otherwise.
i picked up an arctis 7 about 3 years ago and i love it, very comfortable for my huge melon and good battery life. this is from moderate use out of it around 8 to 20 hours a week for discord and roll20 gaming for 3 years
you should be using a magnetic charging cable either way Smilie

I wanted to love the Arctis 7. Read tons of reviews, watched videos. I bought one, and it sounded like crap compared to my Astros A50... returned the first pair, because it had a faulty left ear piece that was always like 10% sound level. Convinced myself that the first one was faulty in more ways than just the one ear... got a second one.... lol same story.

Does the Arctis Pro have the same sound quality? just different features?

I had the Arctis 7 for two years and honestly loved it and really recommend it. I upgraded to the Arctis Pro Wireless when there was (what we think) a price mistake last summer-ish for $170 on it. I really love that it has both wireless audio that sounds great but bluetooth at the same time so I can listen to music from my phone. It's not part of this deal though.

I have an Arctis 7, here's my review:

Pros:

- very comfortable
- good battery life
- good range
- retractable mic

Cons

- bad audio quality. It's fine for voice chat and gaming but it's obvious steelseries didn't care about music, which sounds muddy and ruined.
- micro usb. See below post for magnetic charging workarounds.
- if you tilt your head forwards, it has a tendency to slide off (doesn't stay on your head too well)

Overall I regret buying steelseries and wish I'd gone with a brand that pays more attention to sound quality. For $100 I expected more. I have to use 2 headphones now, one for music, one for gaming.

Link to a good one? Not some cheap chinesium thing that'll probably stop working in a few weeks...

Another happy Arctis 7 owner! Havent felt the need to "upgrade" to anything since.

I like these magnetic cables and use them on the arctis 7 and other things that use crappy micro usb: 3 in 1 Magnetic Charging Cable (4-Pack), YKZ QC 3A Fast Charger Cable Nylon Braided with LED Light, Multi Magnet USB Cable for Type C/MicroUSB and Other Mobile Devices (3.3ft,6.6ft)-12 Magnet Tips https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LD8T...UTF8&psc=1

One problem you really have to watch out for if you charge in your bedroom is that 99% of the magnetic cables out there emit a freakishly bright blue light that disrupts sleep. I purposefully look for the ones that are flat where the light is so I can easily tape them over.
