It frustrates me so much that the Arctis 7 and Arctis Pro haven't been updated to USB-C. Good deal otherwise.

i picked up an arctis 7 about 3 years ago and i love it, very comfortable for my huge melon and good battery life. this is from moderate use out of it around 8 to 20 hours a week for discord and roll20 gaming for 3 years

you should be using a magnetic charging cable either way

For the price, they are pretty good. Quality is good and wireless for 100? plus 24hr battery life? What more do you expect. Show me a better set for the price.
When you put it that way - with wireless being the number one driver - not SQ. Then yes these are good.

I was just disappointed in SQ as all the reviews hyped the SQ. They are a good value for the reasons you posted.

Rtings found that how good these headphones sound varies widely based on how they fit your head, the consistency is all over the place. Definitely check the return policy before taking the plunge if you're unsure https://www.rtings.com/headphones...ro-gamedac

Are there any big differences between 2019 Arctis 7 compared to the newest model, The Acrtis 9 or the Pro Wireless?

Very comfortable headsets but their mics make you sound tinny, almost zero bass.

I've been using the arctics 7 for a few years and they were a great headset. Super comfortable. They also had nice features like a retractable mic and a chat mix dial. However, recently I switched to a non gaming headset with a mod mic and a face/amp combo. Holy cow does the audio quality blow the arctics away. Normally I'd have to play with the volume all the way up on the arctics. But on my new set up I can easily get the volume I need. Also I was also annoyed that there wasn't an Arctics headset that works with pc, Xbox, and PS4 seamlessly.

How does the pro + game dac compare vs the A40 w mixamp(which I'm using currently)?

Thank you
I don't have the pro, but I have the basic 7 headset as well as the a40 with mixamp... People said that the 7 had a better mic than my Astro. I feel like I can hear footsteps etc in FPS games better on the Astros though - as long as the slider is set fully to "Game". I had to crank up the volume on the 7s to a pretty loud level to be able to hear footsteps though.

Hope this is still useful to you

Stay away from SteelSeries wireless headsets until they adopt USB-C. I had to RMA two pairs of Arctis 1's because their micro-USB ports are awful. Cable doesn't go all the way in and it's it's hard to tell if they are charging (right away).

Obviously can't speak for this pair, but their RMA process is awful.

Are there any wireless headset that uses usb-c? I'm contemplating to get this headset because of the lack of usb c(I am referring to the wireless dongle/receiver)
It comes with a wireless transmitter and for $100, it's a steal.

I wanted to love the Arctis 7. Read tons of reviews, watched videos. I bought one, and it sounded like crap compared to my Astros A50... returned the first pair, because it had a faulty left ear piece that was always like 10% sound level. Convinced myself that the first one was faulty in more ways than just the one ear... got a second one.... lol same story.

Does the Arctis Pro have the same sound quality? just different features?
Maybe your left ear is faulty?

Been using this company for a few years. I love that its not bluetooth. Once you use it you never go back.

Out of the box, the best thing about these are wireless headphones and long battery life. The sound is average at best.

However with a software equalizer like APO, you can get these sounding a lot better. Satisfactory, IMO.

The only thing about all wireless headsets is mic sounds subpar to those who hear you talk. Your voice will sound like the old land line phones. Nobody has fixed this yet in any wireless set, AFAIK.

That being said, been using these for 3 years. I like them (after EQing) and when one comes out with a great sounding mic, I'll get those

The dongle looks super wide. There are 2 USB ports on the ps4. Would this block the other 1 if I plug it in? I use the other for my external hard drive.
No, the dongle has a 2-3 ft extension for the USB plugin

I have been using the 7 for years until I recently upgraded to the Pro Wireless.

For those people that have the 7 and wish there was better sound quality, please get peace gui and equalizer apo.

Yeah I even installed that after reading the forums when I had the 2nd pair I tried... better but still really lack luster.
