When did the size of a normal toothpaste tube decrease from the 6-7 ounce size down to 4 point something ounces?

By doing this, their so called 2 pack only has a couple of ounces more than a single tube.

Because this has stannous fluoride which might be a bit costlier to make. Idk

I guess it's the whole advertising "look, now you get 2 tubes!" which probably gooses sales. Meanwhile, it also ensures a lot more environmental waste than using a single larger tube.

Ive got crest pro health with stannous fluoride several times from walgreens for free in the last 2 months. If youre willing to wait youll likely get it for free.
