Might be cheaper at your wearhouse. They were still $39.97 last week.

These thermacells work surprisingly well here in rural maine for black flies in the spring, and mosquitoes the rest of summer. The only caveat is that there has to be pretty much no wind or very minimal.

Do these work in warmer areas like the Southern US and FL?

Here is the product on their site, though the deal is B&M.

Fyi...I use sometimes magnifying feature on android accessibility settings.
Some times I copy Slickdeals "share link" on mobile. Copy link and browse the deal on chrome with "desktop mode turned on". You can zoom in chrome without magnifier feature

I just need refills. That said, it's $20 for one of the small refills and this comes with that and a larger one. Seems wasteful - other ideas?

Edit: Bought from Amazon who says they can deliver 3 refills today(!) for $50.

Once you insert a new refill, does the clock start, or can it be paused by turning it off until the next time you need to use it? We usually go into our garden for just a few minutes most days to check on, water or tend it, so it would be hugely wasteful to have to refill each day or two.

Also, how long before it takes full effect?

It only uses up the fuel and repellant while you're using it, but you do need to give it about 10 minutes to reach full effectiveness, so if you're only going out for a few minutes it would be kinda wasteful - you'd basically be doubling your usage every time due to the startup.

I was actually wondering if there was some alternate setup to avoid the fuel canisters (I didn't want to refill them since it requires hacking). How does this work? Does it actually get hot enough, and where do you find the off brand mats?
