Actually, the MX Anywhere 3 is marginally bigger in the hand, lighter in weight, USB-C charging, lower latency over Bluetooth and receiver, and has a silent magnetic scroll wheel. However, side-scrolling is not on the wheel, but can be activated with a programmable button. You can also find the MX Anywhere 3 on eBay for ~$60 new.

I still have a working one but this is tempting if they are discontinuing this model, I see the Anywhere 3 looks like the new one but not sure I will like it more than my 2s

I've been using the Anywhere 2S for a few years now as programmer of factory automation equipment. I have zero complaints. Battery life is great and it's been super reliable. I travel a ton for work and toss it in bags with all sorts of other equipment. It's held up well.
If it weren't still great, I'd consider updating to the 3.
I just purchased M720 at Costco for $20. Would $25 more for this mouse justified? I think almost all features are same except recharge capability. I'm assuming the quality might be better on the 2S.
Was looking to grab one of these since I can't find a replacement receiver for my VX Nano, it's my favorite mouse. I assume it's the same style scroll wheel?

Anyone used both these mice and have an opinion?
I think in this specific case, it comes down to the feel of them in your hand. As someone who uses Logitech mice and trackballs exclusively, I use the M585 as my travel mouse and the only reason I picked it over the M720 was price. However, holy cow, I'm going to Costco to get one or two! But for the price, I'd stick with the 720.

A replacement receiver? Do you mean the Unified receiver that's USB?
If so, look on ebay, OfferUp, etc. They're cheap and plentiful.

The VX nano was before unifying receivers and the first to use the small form factor receiver (literally says nano receiver). Apparently there were a few iterations of the nano and they are difficult to come by, let alone finding one that was made for my mouse.

Guh…that stinks. As someone that gets attached to my input devices, you have my sympathy.
This mouse sure keeps its value. I bought this mouse almost 3 years ago for $49 on Amazon. Price history is pretty stable one year after launch. https://urlhasbeenblocked/product/B071VK5KXN

I have both, originally wanted an anywhere 3 since I love my 2s, but hard to justify the price. Ended up getting the Costco deal on the m720 for my work setup. The m720 is larger and heavier, which may be a plus if you have bigger hands. I prefer the 2s myself. The m720 also uses single A battery and has an extra thumb button like the mx master(?) which goes to task switcher on windows by default. 2s may also work on more surfaces, but don't quote me on that.

Well...costco charges $5 for shipping so more like $20 more!
