Yes you need to have an expired ultimate pass.

1. Buy the brazilian xbox live code from cdkeys or another source if you find cheaper (can stack 3 years worth of live)
2. Download tunnelbear vpn extension and set it to the brazil server
3. Login to your xbox account while connected to vpn and redeem brazilian codes one by one you purchased
4. Turn off vpn, upgrade live to ultimate (i.e. pay 15 for ultimate and purchase it) once you do this all your live will be converted to ultimate
4. Turn auto renewal off for ultimate
5. Enjoy ultimate for 3 yrs and repeat process at the end of term if this trick still alive

Just fyi the live to ultimate conversion trick still works as of yesterday. Activated the brazilian keys that i purchased yest from cdkeys, currently they are $40 for a year of live. So essentially you can have ultimate for 3 years for $120+$15 = $135 ($3.75 per month). So for anyone with an expired ultimate membership that might be a cheaper route.

Obviously, BF/Christmas sales tend to be the best but if you need it now any discount is good. Even at $10/month gamepass ultimate is such a great value that I subscribe to it even though I'm a PC guy myself. XCloud on a 5G network is also a godsend-- no more shitty mobile games and you can resume it later on a different device on "play anywhere" titles with auto cloud save sync.

Also if you just can't stand paying for gpu look into ms rewards. You can earn about $12-$18 a month depending on how much "work" you want to do and then redeem that for GPU at roughly $30 for 3 months.

Just fyi the live to ultimate conversion trick still works as of yesterday. Activated the brazilian keys that i purchased yest from cdkeys, currently they are $40 for a year of live. So essentially you can have ultimate for 3 years for $120+$15 = $135 ($3.75 per month). So for anyone with an expired ultimate membership that might be a cheaper route.

I'm now a subscription gamer. I get Humble Monthly Choice for roughly $130 a year, and I got a year and a half of Game Pass Ultimate for about $60. I'll probably end up spending $80 for the next year, however. So for $190-$210 a year I have access to way too many games, and I get to keep 144 of them in my Steam account. I checked the other day and after years of being a Humble subscriber, my Steam account is now valued at $23,000.

Buying 2 is slightly cheaper per month ($55 and change) than 1, but 3 is way more expensive. Didn't try higher quantities.
