This deal is $50 - $100 less than other places are selling it for. Great deal for a dual fuel generator. Running on propane is the way to go (just about unlimited shelf life, no gummed up carbs from neglected gasoline.).
It is up to you how to use your money, but don't even dream on using this set up to power your fridge for a few hours during a blackout. Your got the wattage output but for a very short time. Do the math. 4Ah x 18V x number of batteries. For a 5A 120V appliance, you have less than an hour of run time even if there is no energy loss during the transformation.

Costco sells (or sold) a version that had the actual Yamaha mz80 engine in it and is labeled as such. The other version has a "clone" but it's debatable and some have said it is an actual Yamaha based on what was imprinted/engraved on the engine block

Being dual fuel you can use propane instead (or use it for your grill in the meantime) which simplifies things a bit if it stays in storage long time. The sound level it makes would be a big point for me though as well.

Yeah, Costco still sells that one with the Yamaha engine---it's got a blue case, but otherwise looks identical to the SUA2300i, which is red (which I picked up for $250 a few years back ast Sams Club). I've also heard that rumor that it has a genuine Yamaha engine but for some reason AiPower didn't get the OK to advertise it as a real Yamaha. Who knows.
