Why does the title say "select customers"? This is the standard feature for everyone with these cards. Rotating categories.
these days you can buy any gift card to anywhere or even a visa prepaid credit card which you can use anywhere. But for 5% I don't know if it's totally worth it for many things. You lose all the credit card benefits like extended warranty, the ability to chargeback. (And if you're me then you might lose the cards)
i mean if that works then technically you can buy gift cards to anywhere and get 5% off.

Why not just buy physical plastic Walmart gift cards online with your Walmart credit card and get 5% cashback. Then use those gift cards in store, and save the PayPal 5% for something with PayPal?
Interesting. I never thought that. I thought there was always an activation fee on them like the Visa gift cards of $5 or $6? But even then, as long as you got more than $100 (5% of $100 would zero out the fee), then you're ahead. That's an interesting perspective. Thanks!

No activation fee for Walmart GCs.
The only thing I'd still buy with a credit card is electronics or anything that a credit card extended warranty may prove useful. For groceries, etc, use the GCs in store.

That will not work. Per the Capital One® Walmart Rewards® Mastercard Terms and Conditions: 2% back on the purchase of gift cards at Walmart (online, app, Walmart Pay or in stores).
Oh sweet, my 6-month car insurance renewal happens next quarter and Progressive accepts Paypal. Well that takes care of $1000 of the $1500 max.

Is it Walmart in store also? Can you buy Walmart gift cards and use them at sam's club too?
Yeah, that is what I am planning to do, buy the cards at walmart in store and use them at sam's as well.

Thanks! I have the Walmart card from Capital One, which gives 5% cashback for Online orders... but only 2% in store. So now I can get 5% in store! (but only up to a total of $75 cashback) Thanks!
Yeah, I was going to mention this - if you have the Walmart retail credit card, there is no point to use this for walmart online since theirs isn't capped like Chase is. But in store - bonus!

I tried that last month to see if I could use my Walmart credit card to get 5% back with sam's purchases - their system knows when you buy a physical gift card online and will only give you 2% like you would get in the store.
Yeah you can do todaY IN Grocery store, I go there and by amazon gift card
Why go through all these extra steps. Just create a PayPal Key which is a credit card number and add that to whatever place you want to use it at like Amazon. Set the funding source as the Chase Freedom/Flex card and the 5% happens automatically. Once you've spent the $1500 that gives you 5% back you'll only get 1% back so you may want to set your Amazon account to use another card that is like 1.5% or 2%.

Is Paypal key available, it shows that it is "coming soon"!
Thank you, Will do, also hoping I can load them into the sams scan app.
In my experience a few months ago, I could only use gift cards at the register. But you can try, maybe it changed or maybe I missed something
I'm on hiatus from Sam's Club. I ended up upgrading to Plus for less than $10 towards the end of my membership because it was prorated and then they gave me a free year of Plus because I complained about online stock. When the rep said until September, I thought he meant 2020, but he gave me the membership until this month. I will likely join again on Black Friday when the membership cost is a wash or profit with freebies but I will miss the free shipping on the Plus membership so I hope there is a good deal on that.

You are correct, could not add the gift card. I would let my sam's club membership lapse periodically if not for the fear of losing my sam's credit card annual Cashback. If I could only find another free credit card that gave 5% back on gasoline.
