You have to select it as the input method but yeah it basically has Roku's OS. I currently have a google chromecast but I like that Roku has a lot more of the apps automatically integrated with logins stored and that you can cast to a Roku or use apple AirPlay (certain apps like NFL app don't let me cast from my iPhone to a chromecast)
Thanks, I actually prefer the old school IR control because it works with the logitech harmony. But since that's on the way out anyway, maybe it's time to move on.

The Roku works with an RF or IR remote. You can still use your Harmony remote.

With RF, you can point the remote anywhere. So you can tape the Roku to the back of the TV and the remote will still work.
