If you connect to your phone and turn on ambient mode but then move out of bluetooth range, does ambient mode stay on? If you use the app to set a long press on one of the buds to active ambient mode, does that work even when not connected to a phone?

Just set long press to toggle ambient mode, which will work when the buds are not connected to a device.

I currently switch between these and galaxy buds live.
Both have great SQ, i personally feel they last about the same amount of time per earbud, no real reason why i got both except for the reason that i wanted external buds because i get ear sweat (GROSS).
Personally, on a run/bike, i'd probably suggest the galaxy buds live over these (due to wind noise, thats the only literal reason). Galaxy buds live dont have ambient mode, but if something is loud enough you'll hear it... which i feel is similar to ambient mode on LOW mode for the buds+

The wind is really overpowering, so if it's a problem I take one earbud out and turn off ambient mode. I set ambient mode toggle to long press on each earbud so I've got lots of flexibility.

I'm a doofus and completely forgot, that you can switch ambient mode off to deal with the wind noise!
Like i said before, they are absolutely, hands down, best earbuds for the price you pay! I have coworkers still hunting for the perfect price/performance earbuds... They always seem to land back on the samsung buds+, live, pro, and 2...
