Just picked up a 86un8570aud from Sam's Club for $999.91 ($1,165 / tax + 4 year warranty). This is the 2020 model of their LED TV. This is not a videophile TV but based on the human reviews around the internet this is a "omg let's watch TV on my entire wall this is amazing" type TV at an incredibly reasonable price with positive reviews of other 2020 LGs at similar size ranges. Note that because it's under $1,000, the Sam's club 4 year extended warranty is $100.

Product Number: 980269220

Price comparisons:Notable features: 4K UHD, HDR, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, 120htz, 86'', Magic Remote, WebOS smart TV UI

Notable lacking: localized dimming, HDR+ (though Dolby Vision is comparable it seems), has IPS panel (personally I prefer these for wide viewing angle but I know it's not supposed to be as nice)

Transport note
Bring a friend, ratchets and a truck. This thing hangs off the end of the flat carts they have! Also in transport, was able to lay it down successfully. Added a photo of it standing up, 3 minutes later it tipped over (its fine). If you don't want to lay it down, consider the instructions in the box tell you to lift it up and lay it over the edge of a table face down so that you can apply the base legs (optional).

Technical reviews / full specsQA Note: Sam's Club website to find store locations http://www.samsclub.com

Only 86" available is nanocell on Sams website. Looking at this model the OP posted, specs are similar to a C1 OLED with a LED panel. Huge TV better features and a great price. Definitely a go for people not wanting an OLED display.

Sams membership is 100 for plus. There is a deal if you go with 45 you get 45 gift card. Then at checkout update to plus with extra 55$ and you will get 2% cash back on this TV purchase which would be $20. So your membership for a year would only be 35. You would earn that 35 or more back in rewards if you shop with Sams until end of next September

There are people that don't want OLED? What's wrong with OLED?

Probably mostly due to the price premium and somewhat because of burn-in issues.

I have this TV im pretty sure. I plan on getting an Apple TV as the LG app isn't bad but...it lacks apps while I'd prefer roku or apple tv apps that are missing from the LG.

TV is giant - i love it. I paid $1700 (with 5 year warranty and $100 hulu card) from Costco for it so this is a heck of a deal Smilie

As someone who had this television the only thing I'd caution people it doesn't get real bright it doesn't have full area local dimming and it is edge lit but that was my biggest problem with it

According to RTINGs it's not edge lit (neither is mine) it's direct lit but it's not full array which means we get bad light bleed (which it does). Still better than edge lit though.

As an FYI. It's only noticeable on dark screens

Call local store and ask about product #, doesn't appear to be on the site. At least based on signage in our store this price was marked 8/18.
Store clerk: Hang on sir, I'll check if we have those...uhhh, nope sorry. All sold out.
(3 listed later that evening on your local fb marketplace...just a coincidence)

My wall is big enough, I am gonna need a truck to pickup this TV :p
Yep, I went to my local Sam's to see if they had the LG. Even the 85" Vizio box was massive. No way that would fit in my extended SUV. 73" is about as big as you can get in a full size SUV

True. I had bought a 75" tv once, without thinking. No way it could fit in my midsize SUV. We even tried diagonally. Had to return back to the store immediately :p
Its a lesson learnt since then!

I called around So Cal and Arizona and found 2 verified available at the Fountain Valley, CA location right now at 1:02pm.

Unfortunately for me I can't get there in time with a vehicle big enough so I thought I'd share the info here. So bummed. Hopefully a fellow SD member can go grab one of them! The manager confirmed $999. Go get it
