Many newer PCs will have Firmware TPM (fTPM) already on your system that you simply have to enable in bios. So for many there's no need to buy a discrete TPM like this one in order to run Windows 11.

Yes, only if it is required or for those who purchased their PC in 2016 or earlier.

You can also bypass TPM check during install via regedit for now.

Lots of new 3rd party software coming out designed to run on windows 11 requires an ftpm or discreet tpm for security. While bypassing the TPM requirement might work to install windows or for some software, doing so is going to cause all kinds of problems, from programs simply not working to creating serious security vulnerabilites

Last I heard, a week ago, MS has no intention of making Win11 compatible with cpu's Ryzen 1000 series and Intel i7-7700k and earlier. Yes, you'll be able to install Win11 on these older systems with necessary TPM, but MS states they will not support any updates for these systems. Has anything changed since those comments by MS?

From my research, older Gigabyte mobos with TPM 1.2 headers use this same connector but won't work with 2.0. I'm talking about Intel Z97 mobos and the like. For those of us with older systems we'll have to wait to see how this W11 thing plays out over the next 6 months, but I'm not optimistic.

My gigabyte aorus b450 pro wifi is currently bricked when I turned on the secure boot option. No way to fix it. Will this resolve it?
