So buy it, look at the number of hours on it, and if too high return it at Amazon's cost. May not come with original remote, according to fine print.

I don't think is cheap enough for a renewed imo. $1000 would be my cutoff

It's about a $1k less than brand new.. seems like a pretty good deal for a Sony OLED at this size of 65".. it's got a 90 day guarantee so nothing to lose. I will say I've found Amazon's "Renewed" products are very hit or miss.. but they do have a very easy return process.

New 65" A8H TVs went for a low as 1800 on several occasions, maybe 1700. It's an ok deal but you are rolling the dice since it's a used OLED.

On labor day, I was paying $1,170 to purchase a 65" A9G from bestbuy as open box , with 208 hours. They had both fair and excellent condition at the same time, I just decided to get the one with excellent condition which was around $200 more. Compared the price I paid for A9G to this A8H, really wonder which is better in terms of the price and model

Are you sure you can check number of hours on Sony OLED?

secondipity is known for Sony refurbs. I would probably try it if I hadn't picked up the $1500 c1 deal recently.

When I see "refurbished" or "renewed" - I always ask "By whom". If it is refurbished by the manufacturer then it typically comes with a warranty equal to a new item but if it is refurbished by a third party —then buyer beware. Frankly I don't trust Amazon. A lot of items I get from them have obviously been returned and repackaged and are sold as new, Amazon ships EVERY single one of their Prime items by UPS ground even thought their Prime agreement says they must ship by 2-day to the contiguous US , etc. Yes you can return it in 90 days so if the item has burn in you can return it —and that is one major concern— but 90 days is not long enough for some other issues to surface

I live in southern Mass. —which last I checked is part of the contiguous 48 states. If I select any Prime item sold and shipped by Amazon and change the shipping address to ship that same item to my nieces in a tiny town in northwest CT or to my son in VA or to a friend in a remote town the middle of southern Florida — then that same item will be delivered in 1 day to 3 days (3 days for the remote town in Florida). But when I change the shipping address back to my address in southern Mass, then the delivery time changes to 8 to 11 days. — for ANY item. Now Chewy ships to me in 1 to 2 days. Staples ships to me in 1 or 2 days and most third party Amazon sellers ship Prime items to me in 1 to 2 days— so clearly it is possible, But for Amazon every single Prime item ships in 8 to 11 days . I have repeatedly called Amazon for months and they used to say they were doing an expedited investigation of the problem but now they say that while I am entitled to 2-day shipping on Prime items , it is clear I have not gotten any 2-day shipping on any Prime item in the last 5 or 6 months —and while that is not right — there is nothing that the customer service department can do about it. So they now suggest that I can cancel my Prime subscription when it comes up for renewal if I am not satisfied
