  • How Trade-In Works:
    1. Calculate your trade-in phone's value
    2. Buy your new phone online
    3. Complete your new phone purchase online and activate your phone on the carrier's network (Best Buy will help with all that.)
    4. Pick up your new phone in one of our stores
    5. Bring your trade-in phone with you when you pick up your new one. Best Buy will check to make sure you're trading in the same phone you told them about online and check for any damage that might make your trade-in ineligible for the promotion.
    6. Best Buy will take your trade-in's value off the cost of your new phone.
      • Trade-in value is calculated to represent a working phone that turns on and does not have a cracked or broken screen. Your phone will be evaluated when you trade it in to validate that it meets all requirements.
      • Your order must be picked up from a store to complete your trade-in and apply its value to your new phone purchase.

This is probably best deal for upgrade from iPhone 12 to iPhone 13. Discount is both on purchase price and additional bonus for trade in. Trade-in values are fair. No commitment of any kind. For lot of folks tax is only on difference. Can be stacked with discounted BB GC or 10% off chase offer.

Comparing to the deals which require specific plans or 24/30 months bill credits is like comparing apples to oranges.

I upgraded all our lines from iPhone 12 Pro/pro max to 13 pro/pro max for $99/$125. its definitely worth it just for extra year warranty and newer battery

Better off selling your phones privately. These phone trade-in programs are a rip
If you wanna deal with people on Craigslist or offer up, go for it. But these trade in values are just slightly below fleebay prices. But when you consider fees and the hassle of shipping, this is a pretty good deal.

You should have done some research.. new models always drop around now. It's not best buys fault you jumped the gun with the new phone around the corner.

Yes you could return if it's within the window and at a 15% restocking fee.

Thing is there offering less for the iPhone 12mini I got than the iPhone 11 which makes no sense isn't the iPhone 12 mini newer than the iPhone 11

I did it on BB website. iphone 13 originally $1199 and with activation today (which I guess it's for people who doesn't have T-mobile) save you $100, so that's $1099 before taxes.

Once you select that you're an existing T-mobile customer and chose to upgrade, in my case, it's an iphone 11 pro max. I'm getting $615 on my trading, so that's $1099-$615 which comes out to be $484.99 before taxes. I hope that makes sense.
also it seems like an upgrade only thing but you need to activate a new line with TMobile even if you are a customer. On TMO website you just upgrade the line, no need for activation of a new line. I think thats the difference. With BB u need to add a new line but on TMO you just upgrade existing one.

Why would you trade in a phone and buy a new one when everyone knows Apple is launching new devices in September for the last … well … roughly 14 years?

But there offering $460 for the iPhone 11 and only $430 for the iPhone 12 mini which doesn't make sense to me shouldn't the newer phone be worth more?

I assumed that all the older phone prices would be going down like the trade in value should be lower for the iPhone 11 but apparently it's not when I traded in my iPhone 11 they only gave me $340 and now there giving $460 pls explain why there giving $120 more

Looks to me like anyone not on Max should hold their horses and be patient. If you listen to TMUS earnings call it's all about profitability now. Margin improvements. That's why they are trying to get everyone locked in and maxed out.

The good news is all 3 carriers need to finance their network 5G expansions, so the battle is on to offer competitive switching deals and lock people in.

I think this was the first time Apple mentioned carrier deals on stage during the launch already. In this saturated market they Need to push sales especially since barely anything they launch is really new or a killer feature. The 12 is just fine. We may have to wait and be patient and hope for a BF/CM deal or some holiday deals. I will not switch to the magenta max stuff for sure.

I can trade my wife's XR in directly at
T-Mobile and get $400 or I can go the Best Buy route and get $315 + $100 for $415. I guess that phone doesn't qualify for the extra $100 so not much of a deal over the carrier if you have an XR.

Edit: I see the extra $100 is for new lines/accounts. No deal here for me and I'll wait it out.

Last time I did it for upgrade through bestbuy, there was no need to open a new line. They just simply updated the device imei on the existing line, and it is done. Upgrade ties to the phone number or line you selected during checkout.
