  • How Trade-In Works:
    1. Calculate your trade-in phone's value
    2. Buy your new phone online
    3. Complete your new phone purchase online and activate your phone on the carrier's network (Best Buy will help with all that.)
    4. Pick up your new phone in one of our stores
    5. Bring your trade-in phone with you when you pick up your new one. Best Buy will check to make sure you're trading in the same phone you told them about online and check for any damage that might make your trade-in ineligible for the promotion.
    6. Best Buy will take your trade-in's value off the cost of your new phone.
      • Trade-in value is calculated to represent a working phone that turns on and does not have a cracked or broken screen. Your phone will be evaluated when you trade it in to validate that it meets all requirements.
      • Your order must be picked up from a store to complete your trade-in and apply its value to your new phone purchase.

just picked up my iphone 13 pro max blue 128gb and here is the entire process:
Im upgrading / trading my iphone 11 pro max .
Pre-ordered yesterday 09/23/2021 around 10 AM.
got a text an email this morning saying its ready to pick up.( was kinda surprised about this , but ig because this best buy has less people preordered , or got more stock , im in missouri)
I backed up my old phone to my computer . and reset the phone.
Got to best buy( I was one of the first 3 people there so i got help right away) , the guy asked me for my order number and name, then told me to get with a lady.
the entire pick up was about 15 mins, she asked for my id , then my old phone, she spent most of the time input stuff into the system. I confirmed on the machine my info is correct. she handed me the new iphone new in box with a sim card on top. I asked if she need to activate the phone or anything and she said no , when i put in the phone it should activate it self. got the phone and the receipt , now im heading home.
She didnt open the new phone box at all , she didnt ask if I need to transfer my old phone data to the new phone ( might be she noticed my old phone got reset)

iPhone 13/pro is the weakest upgrade.
Only do it if you have a iPhone 8 or below.
Not worth $700/800 after all the hassle that you have to go through.
Your XR should be good through iPhone 14

I can't decide if it's worth it. I just got an iphone 12 pro 2 months ago. After going through all of this, it will cost me $99 + tax to upgrade to an iphone 13 pro
Same to me. I have an 12 pro max.
It seems it's worth to upgrade if it costs $99. The trade-in value may not be like now if we do later.

How does price match work with apple?
It's very YMMV, but I called them and told them the Best Buy price is $100 less. They may have checked to confirm, tried to process it, and then the system didn't let me because I wanted to finance my device out for up to 24 months.

You're welcome to try, but it's no slam dunk.

Did anyone try to add the phone to cart, it keep saying "There was an issue adding this package to your Cart. It should only be temporary, but please wait a little while before clicking Try Again."

Anybody?
Depending on the store there might be lines but with covid maybe they'll have a curbside pickup option? I remember the days of standing in line for hours at the 5th Avenue Apple store, then later the Apple stores down near Chelsea and meatpacking and then uws. Ah to be young again

Do you have to pay tax for only $99 or pay tax for $999 full amount of the phone?

I'm an existing T-Mobile user just paying for the network service and not paying anything for any device. Glad I'm able to do the same via Best Buy.

Ordered iPhone 13 pro with T-Mobile activation (upgrade option) - $899
Traded in iPhone 12 Pro unlocked( purchased from apple store) - $800
Paid - $99 plus tax.

I spoke to best buy and T-Mobile support and they said, as I'm paying for the device upfront, I won't be in the bill credits thing or anything like that. As phone will be activated with a T-Mobile sim, it gets locked with T-Mobile but can call T-Mobile support and unlock after 40 days as the device is already paid upfront.

From the Best Buy website next to the $899 price :
One-Time Payment
No contract. No monthly payments. Own your phone right away by paying the full price upfront and activating it with T-Mobile today.

Shooting 4K ProRes requires iphone 13 pro with at least 256GB, so for really upgrade remember to choose 256gb or more..

Many people still dont know 128gb iphone 13 pro only can shoot 1080p on ProRes ..

So I take it the iPhone 13 comes with a new SIM?

I am currently on T-Mobile One plan and did mother's day promotion and paid off the phone. Now I am having a monthly EIP (on account level). Clicked through Best Buy and after verifying phone number it says "There was an issue adding this package to your Cart. It should only be temporary, but please wait a little while before clicking Try Again." Is this just Best Buy glitch or is my account not eligible? Thanks.
