  • How Trade-In Works:
    1. Calculate your trade-in phone's value
    2. Buy your new phone online
    3. Complete your new phone purchase online and activate your phone on the carrier's network (Best Buy will help with all that.)
    4. Pick up your new phone in one of our stores
    5. Bring your trade-in phone with you when you pick up your new one. Best Buy will check to make sure you're trading in the same phone you told them about online and check for any damage that might make your trade-in ineligible for the promotion.
    6. Best Buy will take your trade-in's value off the cost of your new phone.
      • Trade-in value is calculated to represent a working phone that turns on and does not have a cracked or broken screen. Your phone will be evaluated when you trade it in to validate that it meets all requirements.
      • Your order must be picked up from a store to complete your trade-in and apply its value to your new phone purchase.

just picked up my iphone 13 pro max blue 128gb and here is the entire process:
Im upgrading / trading my iphone 11 pro max .
Pre-ordered yesterday 09/23/2021 around 10 AM.
got a text an email this morning saying its ready to pick up.( was kinda surprised about this , but ig because this best buy has less people preordered , or got more stock , im in missouri)
I backed up my old phone to my computer . and reset the phone.
Got to best buy( I was one of the first 3 people there so i got help right away) , the guy asked me for my order number and name, then told me to get with a lady.
the entire pick up was about 15 mins, she asked for my id , then my old phone, she spent most of the time input stuff into the system. I confirmed on the machine my info is correct. she handed me the new iphone new in box with a sim card on top. I asked if she need to activate the phone or anything and she said no , when i put in the phone it should activate it self. got the phone and the receipt , now im heading home.
She didnt open the new phone box at all , she didnt ask if I need to transfer my old phone data to the new phone ( might be she noticed my old phone got reset)

iPhone 13/pro is the weakest upgrade.
Only do it if you have a iPhone 8 or below.
Not worth $700/800 after all the hassle that you have to go through.
Your XR should be good through iPhone 14

So I put in a reservation but I'm a bit confused I'm currently getting bill credits for my iPhone 12 Pro. If I upgrade the phone do I still get the remaining bill credits?

Also is ProRes video worth the extra cost?
For T-Mobile if you pay off you will still get the bill credits unless you leave and cancel account

Also if you check the order details on the bestbuy website, you should see following line at the bottom of your order.

TMO KEEP EXISTING PLAN
Qty: 1
Order Received

FYI, I have the simple choice plan (NAFUTT4), and have ordered couple of iiPhones (13 and 13 Pro Max).
Yes i see that on my orders "TMO KEEP EXISTING PLAN". Hopefully BB has their crap together Friday! I think its going to be a field day!

Are you referring to ProMotion Resolution? If its anything like ProMotion on the iPad Pro its awesome.. I'm just not sure how nice its going to be on a smaller screen rather than a way bigger IPAD…. Thats like one of the only reasons I'm going Pro this year…. In the long run its like $200 more for me and i think its worth it… I'm not sure about that extra GPU, but i figure thats just icing.

I'm thinking it may be better to wait till Saturday once the dust settles… then part of me is thinking… what if they no longer honor the deal… or somehow give your phone away on Friday….

Can you look into how to get business accounts activated, the SSN/EIN number as last 4 is not working.

Thank you!
I really can't do anything action wise beyond provide insight of what I'm aware of unfortunately as I'm no longer in mobile or even in the store itself for that matter. I can tell you that when I was in mobile, we had no ability to work with business accounts and most often people wanted to do it with Verizon. We had to unfortunately direct them to a regular Verizon store.

In this case it is a simple account validation to my understanding, and I could have been mistaken but I think a person or two in here had success with their EIN? In any case, I would say you could try to have Best Buy for Business try to get you a definitive answer.

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/elec...0900050001

They are a specialized team for businesses and you can call them, but I believe their team operates pretty much just business hours, Monday-Friday more or less. Do know their processes are slightly different than regular consumer BestBuy.com (although precisely how I'm not sure of) and to my knowledge (but not 100% positive) they don't manage business wireless accounts, but they'd probably know or be able to find out the bottom line answer here though. If it was an installment plan the answer would be 100% no I'm pretty sure, but since this is a simple validation check it seems to buy outright, that's what makes me unsure, particularly as it seems T-Mobile has told people on their side this should be possible, of course I have not verified any of that myself so.

I'm getting this message when checking out - "These are the charges that will be added to your T-Mobile bill, plus any applicable taxes, fees or surcharges."

Does this mean my plan will change? I'm on the One plan and trying to upgrade the phone with trade-in.

Hey rastatech, any update on this?
I checked my account and the discount code is still on the account when checking with the Chrome developer tool .
https://www.reddit.com/r/tmobile/...soc_codes/

The agent yesterday also said they will monitor and said it will be 24h+ and let me know when it is gone. I will check again later tonight and tomorrow morning and evening. Once it is gone I will try another BB checkout and see if works. I hope that's the culprit.

The autopay discount should be fine, though the other one may cause problem.
