  • How Trade-In Works:
    1. Calculate your trade-in phone's value
    2. Buy your new phone online
    3. Complete your new phone purchase online and activate your phone on the carrier's network (Best Buy will help with all that.)
    4. Pick up your new phone in one of our stores
    5. Bring your trade-in phone with you when you pick up your new one. Best Buy will check to make sure you're trading in the same phone you told them about online and check for any damage that might make your trade-in ineligible for the promotion.
    6. Best Buy will take your trade-in's value off the cost of your new phone.
      • Trade-in value is calculated to represent a working phone that turns on and does not have a cracked or broken screen. Your phone will be evaluated when you trade it in to validate that it meets all requirements.
      • Your order must be picked up from a store to complete your trade-in and apply its value to your new phone purchase.

just picked up my iphone 13 pro max blue 128gb and here is the entire process:
Im upgrading / trading my iphone 11 pro max .
Pre-ordered yesterday 09/23/2021 around 10 AM.
got a text an email this morning saying its ready to pick up.( was kinda surprised about this , but ig because this best buy has less people preordered , or got more stock , im in missouri)
I backed up my old phone to my computer . and reset the phone.
Got to best buy( I was one of the first 3 people there so i got help right away) , the guy asked me for my order number and name, then told me to get with a lady.
the entire pick up was about 15 mins, she asked for my id , then my old phone, she spent most of the time input stuff into the system. I confirmed on the machine my info is correct. she handed me the new iphone new in box with a sim card on top. I asked if she need to activate the phone or anything and she said no , when i put in the phone it should activate it self. got the phone and the receipt , now im heading home.
She didnt open the new phone box at all , she didnt ask if I need to transfer my old phone data to the new phone ( might be she noticed my old phone got reset)

iPhone 13/pro is the weakest upgrade.
Only do it if you have a iPhone 8 or below.
Not worth $700/800 after all the hassle that you have to go through.
Your XR should be good through iPhone 14

$620 TIV for an iPhone 12 + an extra $100 off the 13/128gb?? I'm in! Placed my order at 3:57pm and got the ready for pickup email at about 4:10pm. Still have quite a bit on EIP but seems like that doesn't matter according to what I've been reading.
Hopefully this doesn't fark up my account Wink
Please let us know if they let you do the trade with EIP still on the trading phone.

Picked two up earlier today. Very easy and quick. They activated the new sims and inserted them however it didn't activate. After I got home had to message T-Mobile to change SIM cards to the new ones. Was a bit annoying.

Thanks for the details.. can't I use the old sim itself instead of activating the new SIM card?
You sure can, just put it in and it is done.

So I have a question I am not sure if anyone can answer here. I am currently getting credits for my 12pro from the mothers day promotion. My bill shows I am receiving 35.30 credit and my a charge of 35.25 and it shows a -.05 cents. It says I am in 4 out of 24 installments. Can I trade this phone in to upgrade to the 13pro and will I still keep getting the credits?

So at the checkout, for some reason, I am unable to verify my T Mobile account and it keeps giving error messages. So while this deal is tempting, I am unable to verify my account.

I tried T Mobile Support - that was useless and the agent kept selling me an upgrade via US.

I tried BB Support - the guy said it's a known issue and T Mobile customers are facing this issue and there's no solution yet.

what a clusterF*** i went to my bestbuy to pick up... was asked to wait in queue because of course everyone and their grandma is there to pick up their brand new shiny iphone 13. I even managed to strike some small talk with a cute girl with her newly adopted iphone 13 in starlight... very aesthetic phone.

anywho, after 30 minutes of waiting they get to me and of course their system gets screwed, which results in another 30 minutes of monkeys running around trying to find a solution. But turns out that BestBuy / T-Mobile were even more idiotic and didnt fully prepare for this wave and their little authentication system went down. So now I am here reporting in, waiting.

Wanted to share my experience as well:

- Pre ordered the iPhone 13 Pro Max 256 GB (Sierra Blue, T-Mobile) on 9/17
- Got the order delayed email last night
- Got the order pick up email by 2:00 PM Eastern today (so don't worry if you got the order delayed email)
- Went to the store, the rep verified my ID, took my trade-in device and after some data entry handed me the new iPhone

I'd say $100 off MSRP on an iPhone on launch day is pretty slick (not to forget the extra $100 trade-in savings)

My store wasn't able to do my trade in for the iPhone 13 pro. Some tech issues between best buy and T-Mobile. I waited 45 minutes while they were on hold, then eventually told them to cancel the order. Now I'm off to the apple store instead. I won't be using bestbuy for trade in again.

Again, your outstanding EIP doesn't matter to Best Buy. You own the phone and the debt is between you can t-mobilr.
