For some, paying less now and in total, plus not worrying about the credits, is worth it.
Random T-Mobile numbers are getting this error message after entering phone number and SSN. "We're sorry, there was an issue processing your request. Please try again later." This is also happening on Apple's websites to those same numbers having the issues. T-Mobile is trying to fix the issue, but does not have an ETA.
So did some math and realized it's not really any great deal. (Good deal so far but you find better deals later if you are no in a hurry).

Im upgrading / trading my iphone 11 pro max .
Pre-ordered yesterday 09/23/2021 around 10 AM.
got a text an email this morning saying its ready to pick up.( was kinda surprised about this , but ig because this best buy has less people preordered , or got more stock , im in missouri)
I backed up my old phone to my computer . and reset the phone.
Got to best buy( I was one of the first 3 people there so i got help right away) , the guy asked me for my order number and name, then told me to get with a lady.
the entire pick up was about 15 mins, she asked for my id , then my old phone, she spent most of the time input stuff into the system. I confirmed on the machine my info is correct. she handed me the new iphone new in box with a sim card on top. I asked if she need to activate the phone or anything and she said no , when i put in the phone it should activate it self. got the phone and the receipt , now im heading home.
She didnt open the new phone box at all , she didnt ask if I need to transfer my old phone data to the new phone ( might be she noticed my old phone got reset)
Only do it if you have a iPhone 8 or below.
Not worth $700/800 after all the hassle that you have to go through.
Your XR should be good through iPhone 14

$138 is likely the iPhone XR's trade in value. T-mobile always give you the face value for the trade-in device then the remaining are paid by monthly credit. That's how they ensure you don't get the high trade in credit then dump them the next day (like any good members from slickdeals).
Now as far as my iphone is concerned..with best buy, they told me that tmobile is offering the same promotion(100 dollars off the price of the iphone) but it says on best buys site with activation..which is confusing since we are already tmobile customers, I just didnt want to get a new plan, just the phone so would that have still been possible, we went ahead and ordered it, full price, 899 plus tax for the 256GB iphone 13..my first iphone :-) just want to know if I could have gotten the extra 100 bucks off of it, if we could I'll tell my brother in law over the weekend when he has a chance to contact tmobile and ask for that credit back
