I owned this model for years and it held up well. Great machine for the price. It uses grounds in the single serve side, so you're not killing the environment with little plastic cups.

Had one burn out on the single serve side about 3 weeks outside warranty. Hamilton Beach is like "Sorry about that, here's 15% off a new one". Never again.

Tempted to pick up. First one lasted just up to before the warranty end date. They sent me another in replacement. That one has been going for almost 7yrs now. Can make about 16oz in total on the single serve side, usually plenty enough for a 20oz tumbler.

The winner for this model overall is the bold setting. Basically it slows the water process down so the water is able to pick up more of the coffee as it passes. Does work well and allows for a nice full taste without having to use extra grounds.

I bought a refurb 5 years ago and it's still going strong. I have to put a clip on the water and filter basket lids to hold them both open so they can dry.

Had this. The heating plate flakes and rusts way to easily.

I have had this exact model since December 2019. I got it for$39 back then. I have had no complaints at all. I love being able to choose just a cup or a whole pot, my own coffee or a nice neat little coffee disc of whatever flavor of the day.

I have this exact model and it has been going strong since April 2017. The only downside is that it splashes tiny amounts of coffee, so expect to clean the wall behind the coffee maker.

My wife bought me this for Christmas. I don't know how much she paid for it, but I love it. I've never made a single pot, but have used the single serve almost every day. I got rid of the Keurig. It tastes a lot better, it's a lot cheaper and I'm not concerned about throwing away 300 kcups a year. For $40 I consider it a big upgrade. It's just a little bit more work, because you have to rinse the filter, but it's really easy to rinse. Well worth it.

If you ever try a thermal carafe you will struggle to drink coffee that sits on a warming plate...

The first cups are often great, then they get to tasting burnt.

This is a fantastic coffee maker. I bought this for the office I used to work in because we were all too lazy to go to the k-cup machine across the massive building. Fill up the carafe once and we'd get a decent amount of coffee for the coffee drinkers. We'd go through about two carafes a day and if you just need the single cup, you can use that instead.

This saved us so much money versus using k-cups and you could make the coffee as strong as you wanted. I left that place, but didn't want to take their source of joy so I left the brewer behind until they had replaced it. They ended up buying me a new one and I've had it for a few years now. It still works great. My roommates and I use it daily. When friends visit we switch it over to the carafe and everyone has plenty of coffee.

The price of this is usually around 60-80 and I've gotten it once for $40 and once for $60. At either pricepoint I'd recommend it. It really is fantastic, it lasts through heavy use, and if you need a full pot or just a cup of coffee, you're good either way.

I've had this coffee maker for years and use the single cup brew almost daily. Being the only coffee drinker in the house, I've maybe brewed 5 pots. They need a single cup only version of this, to use less counter space. Brews great on Bold setting.

The single cup only version is called "The Scoop" also by Hamilton Beach. Which Works great. We are on our second only due to extremely hard water in our area. Been using it for many years.

Mother-in-law has the one with the pot in this deal and we use it whenever we visit. It's also lasted years without issue. Works well for single or a pot. But we definitely prefer the Scoop model for just a single cup.

We've had this a few years, and it's "ok". But highly recommend getting one with a thermal carafe instead. Let an insulated container keep it warm instead of a hot plate.

Just threw away a similar HB coffee maker. The carafe side quit pumping water after 18 months of use. (I descaled regularly.)

You may want to check Walmart. I picked this up Saturday for $31.15 in Virginia!
