ThinkFun Gravity Maze Marble Run Brain Game on sale for $17.99 at Amazon. Regular price $29.99
https://www.amazon.com/ThinkFun-G...00IUAAK2A/
Gravity Maze is one of ThinkFun's most popular stem toys for boys and girls, and was a Toy of the Year Award winner in 2017, in the Specialty Category. It's a gravity powered maze game that comes with 60 challenges of increasing difficulty, from beginner to expert, and makes a great birthday or holiday present for kids who like puzzles, smart games and challenging activities. Gravity Maze is made with high quality components, and comes with a very clear and easy to understand instruction manual - you'll be able to play within minutes of opening the box. Like all of ThinkFun's games, Gravity Maze has an educational aspect - it's built to develop critical thinking skills and tie into STEM subjects like science and engineering. Playing through the increasingly difficult brain teaser style challenges will sharpen your mind by improving logical reasoning, spatial reasoning and planning skills, all through fun gameplay. Like all of ThinkFun's games, it also makes a wonderful addition to any homeschool curriculum.

The harder levels are fairly challenging to the point many adults will not be able to figure it out, while the easier levels were simple and engaging enough for a 4 year old.
Build quality could be better. For the simple puzzles, it is fine but when you start getting to more complex puzzles and after continuous use, the pieces do not snap together as snugly as you might like and they can wobble a bit. They are made of plastic and only snap in at the top and bottom of the pieces. This can be frustrating for children, because they might not be able to notice when the marble does not finish correctly not because their solution is incorrect, but because of mechanical issues like the pieces not being snapped in snugly or wobbling too much. Still, the pieces work well enough.
I also have Rush Hour, and this game has a very similar feel (setup based on cards, then solve) except you are adding an extra dimension. The 3rd dimension makes the gravity maze unique in that it is much more difficult to duplicate in a simple app than 2d puzzle games like rush hour, dominoes, or tangrams. I was pleasantly alarmed by how intuitively gravmaze develops spacial awareness.
Rush hour is currently included in the b2g1 deal at target if you're interested. I think other thinkfun games might also be available but am not sure.
