I have 3x of these in my home. They work seamlessly. Unless you have a need for WiFi6, I'd say go for it. One of my units is in our garage and we live in Las Vegas. Doesn't skip a beat in 115 degree heat.

Great system, highly recommended! Have had it for over four years now, I believe. Still going strong and haven't felt the need to upgrade even with 1Gig service.

I have one in a garage in Chicago. No problems at o degrees either.

There really is not much of a use case for the more expensive models from Netgear. Not many people have devices that support wifi 6 nd even if you do, it is more speed than almost any application requires.

I'm happy for all of you's not having any issues. I've had this for few years and depending up on the Firmware, it's been a hit or miss. I haven't been able to track down the root cause, but my connection drops once or twice a day only to reconnect in about 3 min.

The current FW drops connection quite a bit. But, I had dropped connections on previous versions of FW too. I'd install a stable FW and forget about it if that was an option, but some FW upgrades are forced. (I can install a FW and block ports to prevent this, but I've been lazy.... and also I shouldn't have to do this.)

I've recently did a reset and did a full reinstall again. See if that makes it better. If it doesn't then I'm probably going to grab a good deal on eero pro 6, which seems to have a good reputation for stability, on blackfriday. I need to go wifi 6 soon anyways. I don't know why any one would buy a non wifi 6 router now.

Not a Happy customer....worked well for a year than started degrading speeds. I've 800 mbps...gets full speed on ethernet....over wifi gets from. 100-50 mbps.....Lot of forums online with same issue of degrading wifi speeds and no solution. Traded this and bought eero pro 6 recent Amazon deal.

I have been using orbi ac3000 for myself and my relatives never had any issue, flashed them into Voxel firmware btw there is also a way to convert a RBR50 to RBS50 meaning a router can be converted into a orbi satellite, wifi 6 is upsell without significant benefits and i am a techie..anyways to each his own.

The conversion will only work with v1 router. Most routers selling now are v2 (which gets bricked if you try to convert). Most people for whom it makes sense to be interested in this deal are users needing extra satellites, but you only get 1 satellite here as you most likely won't be able to convert the base unit. Others should pick a wifi6, just make sure it's 3-band or w/backhaul if you have wires.

RBR50/RBS50 works great for me (base + 3 sats) but when it decides it has a connection problem (or when I have to reboot a satellite) it never took less than 10 min to boot up and fully connect.

Edit: most likely factory refurbished. Last batch of new units sold out around June last year.

Def use voxel firmware. I had drops on another router that ended up being both my outside and inside cable lines. Took several calls to charter to finally figure it out.

I have 4 in my home to cover 4 floors. There's a theater in the basement nowhere near the orbi and i can stream to the roku with no issues. These are fantastic.

Had that problem, took me forever to track down a solution. What worked for me was changing the positioning of the satellites so that my devices could seamlessly switch. Once I put them in a more triangle setup, haven't had any issues.
