I've always bought Costco tires due to the peace of mind of warranty and free rotations, but you should beware of their new warranty replacement policy. If they have to replace a tire, you get a credit for what you paid for (discounted price, let's say 140) but calculating what u need to pay, the price they use is the current price(180). Since current price for 1 tire is never discounted, u will end up paying the difference ($40)in a warranty repair. On top of it they charge a installation fee. I recently had to pay $65 on a $170 tire warranty replacement 4 monbths after I bought them at Costco.
They conveniently add like $100 of "extra fees" during checkout then subtract $150. So it's like $50 off total on the stupid expensive tires that they sell.
You can use this deal to pricematch with America's tires. You can live chat with agents on their website. I got a better deal than Costco by doing this.

seems that it is baffling that CC2 gets worse ratings on wet traction while the tread patterns and martials of cc2 tires are designed to excel at wet. I actually brought up this question with tirerack reps. The rep I chatted with said the rating test doesn't simulate real driving situations. I ordered cc2 too but have not got it installed. I get more wet situations than snow. Hope it is not as bad as the rating suggests.

How much better was your deal with discounttire/ America tire…? I don't see the local store matching …

I didn't read it until now, but Costco stapled a second page to my receipt with the Michelin registration information...
That is useful to know. All I got was a blank page stapled to the receipt!

Dang had one that I wanted to use on this deal. Going to try chatting with CS to see if I can get a 50 off coupon, others reported this working.

I was able to get it to work, (not stacked with the $50 off $500). but its probably better to use the $40 off $250 on something else.

Not really planning on buying anything else $250+ before the coupon expires.

Heard so many bad costco tire experiences. The interstate batteries and warranty are great though. When I went on Friday to do a warranty exchange, people were waiting 40 min to talk to someone even though they had an appointment. Don't know why people bother.

I just punched it in. But for a $500 purchase just use that coupon, buy some filler, and return it.

A lot of local tire shops in LA area...place I go to provide free lifetime rotations, alightment during installation with 4 tires purchase, free patches...it's not like Costco's tires pricing is cheap either. Also if you live in LA...amount of people that visits Costco on a daily basis..you'd likely have to wait 1+ hours for a simple tire rotation..ya no. You can literally visit any decent local shops and get better pricing. It's just like people going into dealerships for auto repairs vs local auto shops lol.
I'm in the LA area. Totally agree on Costco being too busy.
Any recommendations? Do you mean our chains like Firestone or America's tire? Or independent shops?

I normally go to America's tire. Their unit cost on many tires are lower than Costco's and they usually have the same discounts too from Michelin. When I make an appointment, I'm also usually in and out in about 30 mins. After installation and taxes, a set of 225/55/19 defenders came out $50 cheaper than Costco. Add in the benefit of not waiting hours for your car to get serviced.

I had to also use Michelin's tire warranty because my premiers died at 50% of the tread warranty and they made it hassle free by taking my tires and discounting by the mileage in the purchase price of my new tires. That ended up knocking off another $370. So, definitely take advantage of the warranty if you can!

Installation costs are pretty similar. Plus balance and rotations for life of tire that take about 15 minutes each time with an appointment. They're also pretty much all over socal, so they all have my files anywhere I go.

There was also one case where America's tire already applied a Michelin discount and then Michelin accepted my rebate request for a similar campaign. So, keep watch for things like that.

How are people with cross climates liking the tire? Thinking about putting these on my VW golf in Colorado where we get a decent amount of snow.
