If only there was an alternative with the same functionality. There isn't.
This. I am sticking with 2017 as it's the last version before the subscriptions came. I only use it as an electronic checkbook, but man I can also say it's kind of wonky sometimes and has the same bugs that have been in it for years,
Quicken's "What if" and their planning functions are not easily available elsewhere. I have been using Quicken since it was introduced by Intuit (before its sale top the current owners) and that makes it hard to give it up with all my history. I do find the updating of transactions poorly implemented. Lately I must use Excel for Money, part of Microsoft 365, to see some of the strange transactions that Quicken lists -- often the name in Quicken is weird and the tags and categories seem to pop up at random. MS 365 Excel for Money does a much better job on transactions, but unfortunately doesn't have any planning functions,
Sadly, after they change to yearly subscription mode, I just stopped using it. All the existing bugs are there for years and they just want to charge more.
I was a microsoft money user before they discontinued. Moved to Quicken and works just fine. I have tried other alternatives and nothing seems to come close to this. Ease of use is so much better and features are much more vast. The updates arent a bad thing...i mean do you complain when they update your phone apps/firmware. Its the same thing here. I just buy these when they are cheap and hang on to the code for next renewal. Note that one downside is you can renew for more than 1.5 yrs. For example my current sub ends in may. I have to wait til November to apply the code because subscription cant be longer than 1.5 years. Wish theu would change this as i hate having to leave these codes laying around til the next november.

Agreed. I've tried almost every other competitive product and they don't match features.
Does anyone know if this will work to renew an existing sub?

Had it for years, saves me lots of time. I found nothing that fully replaces it. If $30 a year breaks your bank then you probably don't need this.
Why not personal capital? Much better than this.
Yeah, what's another wafer thin mint?
