So weird. With the coupon, I'm paying more than the standard times I fly between pdx/San. Usually at $140-160 on saver. This was 205 at the lowest
It seems like it's not bogo to anywhere but instead bogo to only the following places: Hawaii, Mexico, Costa Rica, or Belize
Check the fine print - if you aren't flying on specific days of the week, the code is for 10% off, which seems exactly the discount that you got.

Alaska airlines is the 5th largest airline in the United States and services almost every major airport.

I don't doubt it, but I've never seen them at any midsize or smaller cities outside of their original home territory (unlike SWA, or even Spirit or Frontier, which seem to be almost everywhere). I definitely see them at airports, but in very small numbers compared to the rest. But the #5 rank doesn't shock me with all the consolidation of the past 10-15 years.

I still find it cheaper just picking home airport, picking dates and using google to find cheap flights.

Gotta disagree on business travel. I've been on about 40 flights this year, and I hate to judge people by what they wear to the airport, but a lot of them look like business people. I will estimate at least 1/2 the people I've talked to were traveling for work. Scaled back, for sure, but I wouldn't say mostly on hold.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but not their own facts:
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/fe...er-changed

A Bloomberg survey of 45 large businesses in the U.S., Europe and Asia shows that 84% plan to spend less on travel post-pandemic. A majority of the respondents cutting travel budgets see reductions of between 20% and 40%, with about two in three slashing both internal and external in-person meetings.

According to the Global Business Travel Association, spending on corporate trips could slide to as low as $1.24 trillion by 2024 from a pre-pandemic peak in 2019 of $1.43 trillion.

"We don't think business travel will ever return to 2019 levels," said Will Hawkley, the global head of travel and leisure at KPMG LLP.

The hotels sector, which draws about two-thirds of its revenue from business travelers, could see a dip of as much as 18% by 2022 as virtual meetings replace 27% of corporate travel volumes, a Morgan Stanley study shows.

Deloitte: "Strong return scenario" is for U.S. corporate spending on travel to reach 80% of 2019 levels in fourth quarter 2022 while the "weak return scenario" would be for 65%

Then I guess you need to define your opinion of "mostly on hold". To me the word mostly implies more than half.

The Facts you posted basically agree with me. It confirms what I said in my post, businesses are scaling back for sure. But not putting travel mostly on hold.

Sorry, this is of course only my opinion. Which is worth about $0.02laugh out loud

Sweet, us Alaska Airlines credit card holders that pay $75 annually to be able to get a companion fare for $100 makes us feel super valued with this promotion.

This isn't much of a deal. What a waste of my time looking at it. Prices are basically what I usually see at Kayak.

Relax, it seems like a 2-3 day promotion and besides, the opening bonus is more likely the reason you got the card in the first place.

Be careful with Alaska these days. They repeatedly cancel or change flights months away. One of my December flights has been changed from direct to connecting, then after that they have changed the flight departure time literally 5x. Now it leaves at 6am....if they don't change it again.

Bogo Coupon calculation seems broken. It takes bogo off of a higher base ticket price for both tickets then at checkout just adds the 2nd ticket price back.. i expect fees on both tickets but not 2x ticket prices

Every airline is doing this, with the variability of covid schedules more than a month or two our are really just placeholders.

OK so it looks like it's a bogo for only the fare, not the taxes (which are usually pretty high to international). Still a pretty decent deal if it works for you!

I still don't get why it is only a $31 dollar discount on a $91 fare. I would think BOGO would mean if the fare was $91, then it should be a $91 discount for 2 tix.

Here's what I got on LAS-SJD on a few dates tues-tues. Same price with BOGORUSS or BOGOTIME code.

The $91 includes some taxes, the actual fare is the $60. (You can check this if you subtract the taxes and fees total from the price per passenger - it comes out to $60) So you're getting $31 off of each passenger's $60 fare.
