Nope. Just the regular version of Persona 5. This adds a new character, story and semester. It adds about 20 more hours. It's a big upgrade.

If you play the vanilla abd like it, you regret not playing royal after spending a hundred hours and get the true ending.

What makes you just start out with "Wrong." like a child? It was a genuine question.
Each Persona game is a standalone game. The stories from the previous games aren't related to each other. This was my first ever Persona and I loved it.
I had done earlier Persona games before but on things like Nintendo DS or PSP and PS Vita, so doing it in a "modern" game on a big screen on PS4 was definitely much more pleasurable and immersive for me. And I did get much more into it, though still not completed as "life" keeps getting in the way of gaming time. But it's very high on my list of "gotta get back to that one." Since I had done earlier Persona games, I was a bit familiar with some of the concepts, and so some things weren't as "strange" to me. One thing that is common to all the Persona games is the influence of Tarot-card themes into the entities you adopt. I was like "what are all these things?" "what does it even mean?" You'll get used to it after a while and don't worry if it seems totally odd at first. I did just findthis article [fandom.com] that now I will study more myself, because it explains the Tarot card influence which you see in all the Persona games.
The music is phenomenal and will change your mood instantly.
