Kreg. Seriously. Enough with the square drive. Torx is better and we all know it.

One more reason I avoid Kreg.

It's bad enough that Philips and Slotted heads still exist... square (Robertson) heads are only slightly better.

Torx is the only head drove I use for everything I do.

(It's nice now that Torx heads are starting to catch on. I was finally able to find a #6- ½" stainless, with extra coarse threads, for t-track mounting. It makes life so much easier.)

Yeah, pretty much ANY bit is better than Kreg. In fact, the entire Kreg system is just an example of how big a brand can become with marketing, rather than quality. From their Screws to their horrible track saw, Kreg can't do anything beyond, "it's okay. " Yet they sell their items at "WOW! That's amazing!" prices.

Bosch is improving and going after the top spot in tools, but their bits aren't very good imo. Look into Vessel... (Japan... not Vessel USA).
What coarse thread screws would you recommend for pocket holes? Their screws seem stupid expensive and I have a a lot of pocket hole assembly coming up in the next couple days.

While torx is generally better, especially for higher torques, I believe square does better if you aren't straight on with the bit - as I imagine is often the case with pocket holes. You shouldn't be making wood screws super tight anyways.

You can also choose 25 pack for $28. That should last for a while.

This surprises me, I really love their screws, I admit to using them for non-pocket hole applications as they just grip so well in wood and seem laterally strong.

I admit their jig system should be milled metal for the prices of some of those new kits, but I'm dozens of cabinets into my kreg system and have few complaints beyond the dust collection port being a small and awkward. I have gotten a lot of miles and a decade on my kreg bit and this will be my first replacement, and isn't even required, just notice a bit of rounding.
